Aid for shifting one partial image in rangefinders.
When it comes to optical rangefinders, it is mostly about the task, the one
to move measurably from two partial images. To this end, according to the invention
an achromatic prism system in use that can be calculated according to certain principles,
which can be rotated about its breaking edge or about an axis oriented equivalent to this
is.
kommen hauptsächlich chromatische Fehler in Betracht.
In Fig. X are two simple prisms of known design in the zero position,
d. H. able without total deflection, drawn so that the refracting angles
appear rotated by 1 $ o °. Now this becomes one of the two prisms around its refractive
If the edge is rotated (Fig. 2), the total deflection is equal to the difference in deflection
of the two single prisms. In this way one can see the incident rays one
give any distraction. For error-free imaging by the two prisms
mainly chromatic errors come into consideration. Albeit common - achromatic
Prisms are already known for purposes of use, they still have certain ones
Residual errors which have the effect that the prism is not in the new position when it rotates
is more completely achromatic. The essence of the invention therefore lies in the calculation
and use of prism systems with stable achromatism, d. H. of such prism systems,
when the angle of incidence changes, so does the deflection of the exiting rays
vary compared to the incoming ones, but they are achromatic in all positions.

The structural elements of such a prism system shown in Fig. 3 with a stable Achwmasie are as follows Breaking

Such a prism system can be used in various ways. You can z. B. individually in front of one objective of a basic rangefinder or "in front of one objective half of a single telescope. If you use a fixed prism with an oppositely directed refractive angle in addition to the rotatable one, the latter will also consist of a stable achromatic prism system. In this In the case, it is expedient to place a prism system in front of the two lenses of a basic rangefinder or in front of each lens half of an individual telescope.
