Description
-The main patent relates to a device for rapidly changing the stability of ships by relocating the center of gravity and the metacenter, when using subsidies appropriately rated power water ballast from an upper tank system into a lower tank system is emptied. High tension is particularly suitable for pumping water Compressed air, which from compressed air storage of z. B. 5 ° atmospheres removed will. The connecting pipes between the upper and lower tanks and the air escape pipes of the lower tanks are laid in such a way that the tanks can leak if they are heavily listed or capsized Ship is impossible. -
Im wesentlichen bestehen diese Maßnahmen darin, daß die unteren Wandungen der oberen Tanks derart gegeneinander geneigt sind, daß ein vollständigesIn the event of sudden falls, a collision or any other unforeseen event In the event of an incident, the ship can already have a dangerous lean angle before the control command for the shift is given of the tank water can be given. The present invention relates to measures also in such cases, so in the event of inclination or capsizing, proper functioning of the tank water pumping ensure that the righting moment that occurs a few seconds later the dangerous incline is overcome. Essentially, these measures consist in the fact that the lower Walls of the upper tanks are inclined towards each other so that a complete
When the ship is tilted, the tanks are blown out at least up to an angle of inclination corresponding to the angle of the walls to the horizontal: is guaranteed. Such a funnel-shaped design of the upper tanks keeps the inlet opening of the bell-shaped bodies, which surround the downpipes protruding into the upper tanks, under water even when the ship has a heavy list. In order to support this effect, it is advisable to lead the bell-shaped body to the bottom of the upper tank or funnel and to provide side entry openings at the bottom. If the angle of inclination of the funnel walls against the horizontal z. B. 65 °, a perfect effect of the compressed air delivery is achieved with static inclines up to 65 0. If the ship is in heeling motion, the inlet openings of the bell-shaped body are kept under water at a lean angle of about 90 °.
In the arrangement according to the main patent, the downpipes are direct. interrupted after the exit from the upper tanks and designed like a nozzle, the nozzle-like end opening into a funnel-shaped widening of the downpipe which is in communication with the atmosphere. This design is intended to ensure that any entrained compressed air can escape into the free atmosphere. Difficulties have arisen with this arrangement insofar as part of the conveyed water escapes into the open atmosphere when the ship is in an inclined position. As a further measure to safely maintain the tank water pumping in inclined positions, it is therefore proposed to provide the nozzle-like expansion and funnel-shaped design of the downpipes immediately before the entry of the same into the lower tanks, so that when the ship is inclined behind the nozzle there is no longer any rising Pipeline is located. In the case of the funnel-shaped design of the upper tanks, such relocation of the nozzle is much more appropriate, also with regard to the structural design of the system. The invention is to be explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. The drawing shows the cross section of a ship's hull with the device according to the invention. Only the left side of the ship is shown, the right side is to be thought of in the same way. 1 with the ship's outer skin is referred to. Approximately at the level of the water line, the upper tank system 2 is provided, which consists of a single continuous tank or better in the more Schiffslängs-; may consist .. direction one behind the other individual tanks' ^. On the right-hand side of the ship, not shown, there is an identical ta | ik system. The lower tank vantage is at the level of the ship's bottom and preferably consists of two tanks 3 and 3 running along the keel The upper tanks are generally filled with water. Only in the event of danger this tank water is emptied as quickly as possible into the lower tanks by means of a compressed air delivery device. The downpipe between the upper and lower tanks must be laid in such a way that a Leakage of the tanks is impossible when the ship is inclined or capsized. The same applies to the air escape pipes to be provided on the lower tanks. In the example shown, the upper tank system 2 is connected to the lower tank 3 by downpipes 5. Correspondingly laid pipes then connect the not shown , on the right lying upper tank system with the lower tank 4. You can the upper u And of course also connect the lower tanks crosswise so that the downpipes from the left tank 2 open into the lower tank 4 and from the right upper tank into the lower tank 3.
The downpipes 5 protrude above the highest liquid level of the upper tanks and are surrounded by a bell-shaped body 6 in the tank itself. According to the invention the lower walls 7 of the tanks 2 are arranged inclined relative to one another in such a way that they can be completely blown out of the tanks when the ship is tilted up to at least one of the angles of the Walls against the horizontal corresponding angle of inclination is guaranteed. So the tanks 2 get in their lower part at the points where the downpipes are passed through the shape of a funnel. The bell-shaped body 6 is guided to the bottom of this funnel and provided with side entry openings 8 at the bottom. The tanks 2 are through downwardly inclined baffles 9 and 10, which only have a flow opening in the tank center plane have divided.
The mouth part 19 of the compressed air line has lateral outlet openings 20 and is provided with a baffle plate 21. To the spherical part of the bell-shaped body 6 is connected to a vent pipe 12, the can serve at the same time to monitor the work process and for this purpose
The downpipe 5 is just before the entrance interrupted in the sub-tanks and formed into a nozzle 13, which is in a funnel-like Extension 14 of the downpipe protrudes. This funnel-shaped extension is expediently executed closed and is by means of the connecting piece 15 with connected to the atmosphere.
Das Herausdrücken des Wassers aus den unteren Tanks wird dadurch ver-The funnel-shaped continuation 7 of the tank 2 in connection with the guide plates 9 and 10 ensures that the inlet openings 8 of the bell-shaped body 6 also remain under water even when the ship is leaning sharply or when the ship has capsized. Through this an almost complete "emptying" of the upper tanks is guaranteed in every position of the ship. This prevents the water from being forced out of the lower tanks.
Es ist also nicht möglich, daß die Druckluft das Wasser aus den unteren Tanks durch die Entlüftungsrohre herausreißt. zo prevents the compressed air from the nozzle 13 in the nozzle 15 and from here into the subsequent pipeline or into the atmosphere escapes. So it is not possible for the compressed air to remove the water from the bottom Tear out tanks through the vent pipes.
Two lines 16 and 17 are provided for venting the lower tank 3.
The line 16 is in the upper part close to the partition and the line 17 on the round part halfway up the tank. Both lines are arched across the center of the ship and back again and then both combine to form a common pipeline 18. The line leading from the nozzle 15 can also open into the pipeline 18. In the exemplary embodiment, the walls of the funnel are inclined by 65 ° to the horizontal. This ensures safe emptying of the tank in static inclines of up to 65 °. This effect is further increased by the baffles 9 and ίο and the above-described formation of the mouth part of the compressed air line 11, so that even with heeling movements with ship inclinations of up to 90 0 or more, the inlet openings of the bell-shaped body 6 are kept under water, the emptying of the upper tanks is ensured except for a very small remainder.
If the upper and lower tanks are connected crosswise, the downpipes are laid and to modify air escape pipes in a suitable manner so that the tank can also leak if the tank is inclined or capsized ship is impossible.
