Description
Oversensitization of photographic emulsions without the use of Electrolytes Addition to Patent 674 634 In the main patent 67 ¢ 634, a process is used described for the oversensitization of photographic emulsions, its essence therein is that the photographic emulsion briefly in mercury baths higher Temperatures: is immersed. The shorter the immersion time, the higher the need be the temperatures of the mercury. However, temperatures that are too high can be damaged of the photographic emulsion.
According to the subject matter of the present invention, this now becomes a cheaper one Effect achieved that the emulsions in mercury of normal or, even higher Temperature are immersed, with a higher pressure than atmospheric pressure on the mercury burdens. The overpressure can be produced, for example, in such a way that the Mercury is in an autoclave-like vessel, which with a compressed gas hash is connected, so that in the free one located above the mercury Autoclave space according to the valve actuation a desired pressure, which is thus at the same time: on which mercury acts, can be adjusted. To achieve the required pressure can be used both with compressed air and with special Use the advantage of inert gases. When oversensitizing film, the oversensitization procedure is z-, preferably continuously, to design in such a way that the film with one of the mercury temperature and the pressure bustling above the mercury : dependent speed is drawn through the mercury bath. It is there expediently, the slots through which the film can be inserted into the mercury bath and leads out, with appropriate seals below the mercury upper area to be attached. because in this way the film is always in contact with clean mercury comes.
Embodiment A vessel filled with mercury is placed in an autoclave, which is heated until the mercury has reached a temperature of about 5 ° C., and the mercury bath is charged with the photographic plate. After the autoclave is closed, an overpressure of about 4 atm is generated with the help of compressed air, around the temperature of the mercury bath is increased to 60 ° C. After 20 minutes the photographic plate is out of the mercury bath. If an Agfa phototechnical plate A is treated in this way, its threshold sensitivity increases by about 36 times, with constant fog.
-.Im Gegensatz dazu .steigt die Empfindlichkeit euer Agfa phototechnischen Platte A, die man 4 Wochen lang quecksilberhaltiger Luft aussetzt, nur um das etwa i,6fache.- In contrast, the sensitivity of your Agfa phototechnical increases Plate A exposed to mercury-containing air for 4 weeks, just about i, 6 times.
