Badekappen mit einem elastisch gegen den Kopf anliegenden Rand und einer inneren, im Abstand von dem Rand umlaufenden Abdiclitung sind bekannt. Bei den bekannten Badekappen dieser Art besteht die innere Abdichtung aus zwei übereinanderliegenden, nach innen abstehenden Wulsten, die um die.Seiten- und Rückenteile der Kappe, nicht aber an der Stirnseite derselben verlaufen. Von einer durch den elastischen Kappenrand allenfalls geleisteten Abdichtung infolge der Anordnung der teils umlaufenden Wulste kann bei diesen Badekappen keine Rede sein, da an der Stirnseite eine zusätzliche Abdichtung nicht vorgesehen ist. Bei anderen bekannten Badekappen ist je ein Wulst lediglich an den Seitenteilen der Kappe vorgesehen; auch hier ist die Abdichtung nicht genügend. Bei weiteren bekannten Badekappen ist im Abstand vom Rand ein innen umlaufender Schlauch als zweite Dichtung vorgesehen. Infolge der Anordnung des Schlauches ist aber der eigentliche Kappenrand daran verhindert, sich dicht an den Kopf anzulegen. Ist nämlich der Schlauch derart in der Nähe des Kappenrandes angeordnet, daß er unter dem Haar'zu liegen kommt und dieses vom Naßwerden tatsächlich schützt, so ist es ganz unmöglich, daß der Kappenrand sich ebenfalls an den Kopf dicht anlegt, da der Rand durch den Schlauch vom Kopf so weit abgehalten wird, daß die Breite des unter dem Schlauch vorhandenen Randteiles nicht mehr ausreicht, um das dichtende Anlegen des Randes zuzulassen. Es verbleibt daher lediglich die durch den Schlauch geschaffene Abdichtung. Außerdem drückt der Schlauch wie ein dicker Wulst ringsum heraus, was sehr unansehnlich und die Badekappe schwer verkäuflich macht.Bathing caps with an edge resting elastically against the head and an inner cover running at a distance from the edge are known.
