Man hat bereits Haltevorrichtungen für Blumen vorgeschlagen, die am Rande der Blumentöpfe befestigt werden, bei denen Haltezungen in das Erdreich der Blumentöpfe hineinragen. Diese Vorrichtungen waren jedoch unbefriedigend, weil teils durch die Zungen die Wurzeln -beschädigt wurden und teils die Zungen keinen genügenden Halt insbesondere gegen seitliche Beanspruchungen aufwiesen, da sie entweder die Form von schmalen Streifen oder von kreisförmigem Querschnitt hatten.
