Description
Process for sintering fine ores When sintering fine ores on .Rust., Such as B. in the Dwight-Lloyd and Greenawalt proceedings, this is Fine ore is usually not placed directly on the grates, but -it is first a top layer of chippings, pea-sifted coarse ore or sinter applied with it the fine ore does not fall through the grates or is not carried away by the air sucked through will. This cover layer is also intended to prevent the sinter from sticking to the grates and destroys them.
A very big disadvantage of this way of working is that (this layer lies very close to the grates. and in this way the air permeability that is very important for sintering, and thus also the level of generation of the sintering plant considerably reduced. The use of chippings has the further disadvantage that this is not evenly covered by the sintering and thus the product renders uneven in its chemical and mechanical properties, so that Difficulties can arise during smelting in the blast furnace. By using on the other hand, sinter as a top layer puts an unnecessary economic burden on the system. All these disadvantages are avoided by the method according to the invention. These is primarily that part of the fine ore to be sintered beforehand Rubble is processed and then placed on the grates as a top layer. The rubble production can be done in a known manner, for example in a rotary kiln.
Due to its spherical shape and its porosity, the rubble has a high air permeability; it can therefore be significantly higher during sintering Fine ore layer applied and thereby the generation of the sintering plant considerably increase.
The rubble used as a grate also prevents it from sliding off of the finished sintered material facilitated when tipping; furthermore, the grids become extraordinary spared.
For the production of the rubble, such fine ores are expediently used, which because of their density and; or their high specific weight are very close and therefore show a very low air permeability for sintering, such as e.g. B. Schlicherze. If these fine ores are processed into rubble according to the invention, so can be a much larger proportion due to the favorable properties of the pebbles such ores during sintering processed without having the Depresses the performance of the sintering plant. On the other hand, it may be useful to use the To be sintered, fine ores to be classified first, from himeil '@, the fine ores with the lower air through:. weed out nonchalance and used this to establish the To use rubble.
According to the invention, the ore rubble can also be classified and the larger Boulders of the same size as possible are used as the top layer, while the finer rubble is mixed with the fine ore. This increases the air permeability of total feed increased and production continued to increase.
Another advantage of the method according to the invention results from the fact that the scree has a water-absorbent effect due to its hair-thin pores and thereby the otherwise very frequent occurrence of silting up of the material to be sintered prevent.
In addition, the method according to the invention is also more economical, because the production of the rubble is less expensive than its use of lime chippings or screened sinter as a top layer.
