Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 12. November 1933 abPatented in the German Empire on November 12, 1933
The invention relates to 'an electric flow heater with a arranged in the central axis of a housing thermally insulated on all sides, traversed by the liquid to be heated, on which the Heäzwidersitände are attached. In the previously known devices of this type, the heating coil is either applied directly to the pipe to be heated and through which the liquid flows, or the heating coil is located inside the pipe. Here, however, the flow of heat electrically generated is supplied not directly to the zn 'heated medium, and further forming in the latter congestion and swirl, and the individual FlÜBGägkeitsteilchen. cannot be discharged from the radiator quickly enough, which can lead to sludge and mineral deposits which reduce the efficiency of the device. In addition, as a result of the poor ability to dissipate their heat and the resulting specific overload, the heating coils can be overheated, burn out and cause operational malfunctions. All these disadvantages are avoided according to the invention in that the cross-section of the pipe made of aluminum widens conically from the center of the pipe to both sides and that the heating power of the heating coil which encloses only the central part of the flow pipe and leaves the ends free , measured per unit of length, decreases steadily from the inlet side of the liquid towards the outlet side. As a result, the liquid to be heated is set in uniformly accelerated movement as it flows through the pipe up to the center of the pipe, so that on the one hand sludge and deposits cannot form and on the other hand there is good heat transfer to the liquid so that the heating coil cannot overheat .
1 to 3 of the drawings, for example, embodiments of the flow heater shown schematically according to the invention. In a container 1 is located a tube 2 made of aluminum. This tube widens conically downwards as well as upwards. The radiator 3 is like this arranged that its heating power, measured per unit length, from the inlet side of the liquid decreases steadily towards the outlet side, so that the heated and Liquid flowing out of the radiator steadily, but without any impact into the Liquid surrounding the radiator and burdening it with sufficient speed is promoted. The heating element is completely against the insulation 4

The whole radiator rests on feet. 5 and is accessed using the Flange 6 inside the liquid container, the liquid of which is to be heated, / built-in. -.V
Since it is advantageous to keep the radiator in> its height as low as possible, so For larger power transmissions, several such radiators are placed next to each other arranged. When generating steam, e.g. B. for steam boilers, an arrangement is advantageous selected according to Fig. 3, so two heaters on top of each other to the radiator windings to be able to better adapt to the heat demand.
ιThe surface of the aluminum tube through which the liquid flows is known Way oxidized and annealed several times during the oscillation process. This creates an insulating layer of extremely high dielectric strength despite its low strength and thus poor heat insulation, so that the heat generated by the radiator can be supplied to the liquid flowing through the pipe unhindered. ι
