In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the resistance element is arranged between the insulation 4 and the lead sheath 5 and as a band-shaped conductor that is helically wound around the insulation. 3 trained. Figure 2 also illustrates how the invention can be combined with arrangements for counteracting longitudinal movement of the oil insulation in the cable.
In the example shown, the cable is for this purpose, in a manner known per se, with an expansion vessel in the form of a tubular that is attached inside the hollow conductor 1. appropriately made of sheet metal body which has such a cross-sectional shape that it receives a certain elasticity in the radial direction, so that it can be compressed when the temperature rises and the pressure of the oil increases thereby and allows the oil to expand. however, when the temperature decreases, it can expand due to its own spring force. The expansion vessel therefore constantly exerts elastic pressure on the oil and thus counteracts the formation of vacuum bubbles.
It is assumed here that the interim'a. is filled with oil between the expansion vessel 6 and the hollow conductor 1. In the arrangement according to FIG. 2, the heat supply is consequently to the resistance wire. 3 and the expansion vessel 6 cooperate for the same purpose, and it results therefrom in an advantageous manner. that temperature fluctuations in the cable do not have a harmful effect on the oil insulation within a larger temperature range.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the resistance conductor is. 3 arranged over the lead jacket 3. In this case, the power conductor 1 consists of several uninsulated wires.
FIG. 4 illustrates an arrangement for regulating the temperature of a cable according to FIG. 1 in a three-phase network. The conductors 1 of the individual cables are connected to the secondary side of a transformer 7, the secondary coils of which are provided with a few additional turns. from which a controllable current of a marginally low voltage can be drawn via the switch 8 and the resistance wires 3. At the opposite ends of the cables, the resistance wires 3 are connected to the conductors 1, as shown at 9.
The figure also shows an arrangement for monitoring or displaying the temperature prevailing in the cable, which arrangement consists of galvanometers 10 and resistance elements 11 arranged in a Wheatstone circuit. These resistance elements can consist of wires wound around the cable with a resistance that changes with temperature. The galvanometers 10 are used to display the temperature in the associated cables.

The high-voltage conductor of the cable shown in FIG. 7 consists of a number of insulated conductors 1. which, for the purpose of distributing the load current to a larger or smaller number of conductors, can be kept parallel to one another as desired. The conductors 1 are arranged in a circle. so that they form a central cavity in the cable, which is filled with an oil insulation. As FIG. 7 shows, an expansion vessel 6 of the type described in connection with FIG. 2 can also be arranged in this central cavity.
8 shows a cable with a power conductor also divided into a plurality of branches that are isolated from one another. These branches form a number of suitably insulated tubular conductors 19 arranged coaxially around a core 18.
FIG. 9 illustrates a method for regulating the temperature in the cable using part of the useful energy transmitted through the cable. Cables of the type shown in FIGS. 7 and 8

The display of the temperature in the cable can also be done by optical aids that can be arranged under the control of a thermostat-M, for example, a colored, z. The drawing shows the case in which the thermostat is operated indirectly through the intermediary of a thermocouple connected to the cable, the current of which flows through a heating coil of the thermostat.
Similar heating devices, as can be readily seen, can also be mounted in the junction box of the cable.
