Process for the high concentration of unpurified sulfuric acid after pretreatment in dephIegmators There are already concentration vessels for sulfuric acid with inserted tubes that guide the liquid to be supplied to the bottom of the vessel. The invention also makes use of this device. However, she does not use open bowls, but a closed cast-iron kettle in which the sulfuric acid is heated to the boiling point, as is already known in other high-concentration systems for sulfuric acid. In these systems, the sulfuric acid vapor is fed as a stripping agent into a rectification column placed on top of the cast-iron boiler. The sulfuric acid rectified in the column is continuously fed to the surface of the tank contents. According to the inventor's observation, at the point of the boiler, where the acid comes into contact with the steam space, there are pitting, which easily destroys the boiler. In order to remedy this drawback, it has been proposed to arrange a cast-iron replaceable ring in the boiler, which intercepts the corrosion, ie attracts it, whereby the premature destruction of the boiler is avoided. However, this does not eliminate other disadvantages, since the inflowing, less concentrated acid initially spreads on the surface, while the highly concentrated acid is stratified in the lower part of the boiler and leads to delayed boiling and overheating of the boiler walls. The arrangement of a deep entry pipe now fulfills the double task of intercepting corrosion instead of the ring and preventing delays in boiling on the other.
Sauerstoff um.One of the main drawbacks of the previous concentrations in the cast-iron boiler
is also that the impurities in the rectifying acid
(Metal salts, organic impurities, etc.) settle on the bottom of the boiler
and, depending on the type and amount of impurities, soon burns through quickly
of the boiler. In addition, these impurities do not conduct heat well,
so that an increased supply of heat is necessary to concentrate the acid. the
The boiler walls are not adequately cooled, and overheating occurs
the burning of the kettle. Furthermore, this kind of concentration is in the cast iron

the sulfuric acid vapor partially overheated and settled in sulphurous acid and

In addition, the foreign bodies in the boiler, such as metal salts, iron sludge, etc. are stirred out, so that the boiler is cleaned automatically by this arrangement: By combining these two measures, it is possible to concentrate unpurified sulfuric acid without interference Introduction of the acid and the support of the circulation by stirring, the delay in boiling of the sulfuric acid is prevented and dissociation.

to a much greater extent and more intimately brought into contact with the contents of the kettle than
otherwise and better exploited, which comes into its own because a considerably smaller one
Part 'z. B, compressed air is required.
