Die im allgemeinen üblichen Abdeckplatten für die zur Montage von elektrischen Installationsapparaten dienenden Unterputzdosen, und zwar sowohl die einteiligen als auch die zweiteiligen Platten, werden vielfach als störend empfunden, weil sie eine übermäßige Größe besitzen und auf ihrer vollen Ausdehnung gegenüber der Wandfläche vorspringen. Es ist bereits vorgeschlagen worden, die Unterputzdosen bis auf einen mittleren Teil der Dosenfläche überzutapezieren, also die Wandbekleidung unmittelbar über einen Teil der Dose zu ziehen. Bei diesem bekannten Vorschlag wird die Dose durch einen unabhängig vom Installationsapparat an zwei inneren Vorsprüngen der Dosenwandung befestigten Blechdeckel abgeschlossen, der den Dosenrand übergreift und in seiner Mitte eine Öffnung von etwas größerer lichter Weite als der Durchmesser des Bedienungsorgans des Installationsapparates enthält. Der Deckel ist an seinem Öffnungsrand mit einem vorstehenden Hals versehen, an dem ein das Bedienungsorgan umgebender Schutzkragen befestigt wird, der gleichzeitig dazu dient, den Rand der bis an den Halsansatz des Deckels herangezogenen Tapete abzudecken. Diese Einrichtung vermeidet zwar die störenden großflächigen Abdeckplatten, sie hat aber verschiedene Mängel. Insbesondere ergibt der auf dem Dosenrand aufliegende Blechdeckel dadurch, daß er gegenüber dem regelmäßig mit dem Dosenrand bündig liegenden Wandputz vorspringt, einen 'Buckel in der Wandbekleidung, der nicht nur unschön aussieht, sondern auch zu Staubablagerungen Anlaß gibt. Der innerhalb des Schutzkragens liegende Teil der Dosenöffnung wird ferner ausschließlich durch das Bedienungsorgan des Installationsapparates abgeschlossen. Dieser Abschluß ist aber unvollkommen, weil zwischen dem Bedienungsorgan und dem Schutzkragen ein offener Spalt verbleibt. Für Steckvorrichtungen ist der einfache Schutzkragen überhaupt nicht brauchbar, da nach Entfernen des hier das Bedienungsorgan bildenden beweglichen Steckerteiles die Öffnung innerhalb des Schutzkragens vollständig frei liegt.
