Description
Process for the production of a mixed yarn from flax and man-made staple fibers It is already known to process flax with man-made staple fibers in a mixture, -um use it to produce a soft mixed yarn that is insensitive to creasing. The processing should correspond to the usual working method in the textile industry. Spinning out the mixture was only possible in a dry way, since every wet treatment would make the spinning of man-made staple fibers impossible. Flax can, however only process into finer yarn counts after opening up beforehand in hot water.
The invention relates to a method for producing blended yarn from flax and man-made staple fibers by mixing the two fibers on the spinning machine, and it consists in that the roving of flax on the wet spinning machine for opening is passed through hot water while the sliver in dry State fed to the drafting system and the combined semi-wet mixture into yarn is processed.
This process ensures that the flax irl the hot water bath receives the opening necessary for a fine spin. The man-made staple fiber would stick together by a treatment with hot water and their spinning To lose properties completely. With the new procedure, both of them will fundamentally different types of fiber meet the requirements for a flawless joint Spinning given to coarse to fine numbers. It couldn't be expected that the flax fiber, which in the construction and in the structure of the man-made staple fiber very much is different and has a significantly coarser single fiber, with the man-made staple fiber can be mixed in the manner indicated.
