Für den Abschluß von elektrischen Kabeln werden im allgemeinen Kabelendverschlüsse benutzt, in denen die Kabeladern zwecks Überführung des Kabels in eine Freileitung 5 oder zur Verteilung der Leitungen innerhalb eines Vergußraumes an Stifte herangeführt sind, die in den Vergußraum nach vorn abschließende Klemmenplatten eingepreßt sind. Die die Klemmen an der Vorderseite der Platte tragenden Stifte sind zumeist wegen der hohen Aderzahl insbesondere bei Schwachstromkabeln sehr gedrängt angeordnet, und es ist daher zur Erzielung eines möglichst hohen Isolationswertes erforderlich, den Kriechweg zwischen den einzelnen Stiften zu verlängern, was z.
