Dr. Hubert Kappen in Bonn Verfahren zur Herstellung gemischter Düngemittel Dr. Hubert Kappen in Bonn Process for the production of mixed fertilizers
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 2. Februar 1932 abPatented in the German Empire on February 2, 1932
It is known to use magnesium salts in aqueous solution with ammonia and carbon dioxide or to react with ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate in such a way that, in addition to an ammonium salt, magnesium carbonate arises. This reaction has already been used to produce, from magnesium salts starting out to produce mixtures of ammonia salts and magnesium carbonate for fertilization purposes. An implementation more solid However, magnesium salts with ammonia and carbon dioxide are not provided there.
The proposal has also been made to use ammonium sulfate in this way to prepare strontium sulfate in the presence of a little water with ammonia and carbon dioxide treated, whereupon the reaction product, however, leached with water and the dissolved ammonium sulfate is deposited by evaporation of water and separated from the strontium carbonate is won. You also have superphosphate pretreated with ammonia with ammonia, carbon dioxide and water or Steam treated to convert the calcium sulfate contained in the starting material into ammonium sulfate and calcium carbonate. The use of potassium or magnesium salts as starting products and the use of a considerable excess of ammonia and carbon dioxide is here not mentioned. Magnesium salts and carnallite have also been used for this purpose in order to bind the ammonia contained in gases and vapors. In all of these known processes is never caused such an amount of ammonia and carbon dioxide to act on the salts that the reaction products would have absorbed an excess of ammonium carbonate, of which they were used for their Further use should have been separated. According to the investigations of the Inventor is one that leads to the use of an excess of ammonium carbonate Treatment with ammonia and carbon dioxide but required if you want a really complete conversion of Potassium salts or magnesium salts containing magnesium salts by the gases mentioned want to achieve.
B. is possible with carnallite, a quantitative conversion of ammonia salt and magnesium carbonate under the influence of ammonia and carbon dioxide to achieve when this salt is treated with such an excess of the gases mentioned that the reaction product smells intensely of ammonia and for the purpose of its agricultural use This excess ammonium carbonate is only used in a special operation must be freed. In this conversion of carnallite by ammonia and carbon dioxide, of course, this is involved Water of crystallization of the salt in the reaction
und macht die Zufuhr weiterer Wassermengen unnötig. (Verfahren des Patentes 586 519 des Erfinders.)and makes adding more water unnecessary. (Procedure of patent 586 519 des Inventor.)
Es zeigte sich aber, daß diese nur unvollständig umgewandelten Produkte dann doch restlos unter dem Einfluß von AmmoniakIn continuing the work of the inventor, however, it turned out that in the case of low-crystalline water Salts, λνΐε in kainite and the sulphate of potassium magnesia, often not complete Conversion under the influence of ammonia and carbon dioxide could be achieved, even if these substances were strong Excess of these salts came into play and the reaction products obtained smelled intensely of ammonia, so even an excess of ammonia and ammonium carbonate contained. The same observation could also be made with kieserite. It turned out, however, that this was only incomplete converted products then completely under the influence of ammonia
Gegebenenfalls, wie beim Kieserit, mußte diese Durchleuchtung mehrmals wiederholt werden, bis eine restlose Umwandlung festzustellen war.ao and carbon dioxide in mixtures of potash salts, ammonia salts and magnesium carbonate could be converted if one made them according to the method of the present Invention slightly moistened with water and then subjected to renewed treatment with ammonia and carbon dioxide. If necessary, as with kieserite, this fluoroscopy had to be repeated several times until a complete conversion could be determined.
Bei derIn a 8 cm wide and 40 cm long glass ear, 250 g of sulfuric acid calcium magnesium are treated for several hours with ammonia and carbon dioxide, which are taken from bombs and passed through washing bottles with water to adjust the speed of the gas flow before they enter the glass tube. The reaction product removed from the tube smells strongly of ammonia, but the investigation shows that it is only incompletely converted. After the excess ammonia which had been absorbed had evaporated by spreading in the air for 48 hours, the product, which now had only a very slight smell of ammonia, contained 3.2% NH 3 -N. This product is ground in a mortar, slightly moistened with as little water as possible and subjected to further treatment with ammonia and carbon dioxide in a glass tube. In this case, the content of NH 3 -N rises at 5.3 ° / 0th In the
Der Kaligehalt des Produktes beträgt 19,42 °/o-the comminuted third treatment again and wetted reaction product is then so far completes the implementation, that after 2 days of Abdunstenlassen the excess recorded Ammoncarbonats a nitrogen content of 6.41 / 0 ° exists, the long time even after 14 Day beds of the reaction product in air or 6, 38 ° / o, so it remains unchanged. The yield of this ammoniated sulfuric acid potassium magnesia is 255 g. The potash content of the product is 19.42%
Der Gehalt an Ammoniakstickstoff geht dabei zurück auf 12,2 °/0, also fast bis auf den theoretisch erwarteten Wert.250 g of kieserite are treated in the same way as in Example 1 with ammonia and carbon dioxide. After 3 hours of treatment, the reaction product contains only 5.1 ° / 0 ammonia nitrogen. It is triturated in a mortar and wetted slightly with water, then treated again with ammonia and carbon dioxide, whereby its content of ammonia nitrogen 8.58 ° / 0 increases. After three more repetitions of the comminution and moistening, the ammonia nitrogen content rises to 15.2%. The reaction product has a very strong smell of ammonia and is spread in the air in a thin layer for two days to remove the excess ammonium carbonate. The content of ammonia nitrogen goes back on 12,2 ° / 0, ie almost to the theoretically expected value.
Examples 1 and 2 clearly show that when the water of crystallization magnesium salts and Potassium salts containing magnesium salts limit the supply of small amounts of water, which only lead to weak moisture penetration, but no dissolution of the salts lead to the progress and are very conducive to the completion of the conversion reaction. But also in the case of salts rich in water of crystallization, it turns out that they have been moistened in between favorable for the progress of the reaction. This is shown in Example 3 below, in which crystallized magnesium sulfate with 7 molecules of water was used.
After 3 hours of treatment, the content of ammonia nitrogen 6.4 ° / 0 by weight and the reaction mass and no re-treatment increases in several times repeated crushing and moistening finally to almost 13 ° / o m d em freed from excess recorded ammonium carbonate reaction product.
Offenbar tritt bei Anwendung giößeier Salzmengen infolge derFurther experiments showed that even with the ammonization of carnallite and of crystallized Magnesium chloride the repeated wetting of the reaction product under the influence of the conversion Ammonia and carbon monoxide favored the ammonization of larger amounts of salt. Apparently joins Application of pouring amounts of salt as a result of the
