Verfahren zum Ausvulkanisieren von Schwammgummi Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Ausvulkanisieren von Schwammgummi. Während bei der Vorvulkanisation bei verhältnismäßig niedriger Temperatur ein höherer Druck aufrechterhalten werden muß, damit das Blähmittel nicht zur Wirkung kommt, muß bei dem Ausvulkanisieren die Wirkung des Blähmittels begünstigt und unterstützt werden. Erfindungsgemäß erfolgt zu diesem Zwecke die Ausvulkanisation in Gegenwart von Wasserdampf, der durch im Kessel befindliche elektrische Heizkörper ohne Druckerhöhung überhitzt oder der mit dem in den Kessel eingeleiteten oder dort erzeugten Dampf einer höher als Wasser siedenden Flüssigkeit vermischt wird. Auf diese Weise gelingt es, dem Dampf eine höhere Temperatur zu geben, als sie gesättigtem Wasserdampf entspricht, ohne daß eine Druckerhöhung eintritt. Durch die Erhöhung der Temperatur wird die Blähwirkung des Blähmittels ganz beträchtlich vergrößert und insbesondere eine größere Ausdehnung der Poren an den äußeren Teilen oder Kanten des vorvulkanisierten Schwammgummis herbeigeführt, die gewöhnlich klein ausfallen.Method of Vulcanizing Sponge Rubber The invention relates to a method of vulcanizing sponge rubber.
