GEORG CASPAR in BERLIN. Heizofen für Gasfeuerung mit Ventilation.GEORG CASPAR in BERLIN. Gas-fired stove with ventilation.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 17. December 1878 ab.Patented in the German Empire on December 17, 1878.
The furnace shown in the accompanying drawing in Figs. 1, 2 and 3 combines the following properties: Forwarding of the burnt gas air with the greatest possible utilization of the contained in it Warmth and adequate ventilation, d. H. direct supply of fresh and forwarding of that to be heated Spaces existing tainted air.
The furnace consists of several cast iron, which are as thin as possible, arranged concentrically and vertical tubes which are so connected with and among one another that the Hot air generated by a burner located inside (sieve or head) on its path that ascends from within to its extent, then descends and then ascends again is always enclosed by cavities through which cold, fresh air flows vertically, so that there is both the largest possible cooling surface and a rapid one Continuation of the transmitted heat.
The middle of the furnace is formed by a tube r, which is open throughout, the upper end of which rests by means of a flange on a cover plate d that closes off the furnace, and which is surrounded at the lower end by a burner b, here a sieve burner. The latter stands on an, easily removable star ί made of cast iron or gas pipe, which is stored in the three furnace legs. Two concentric tubes C 1 C 2 of equal length, reaching not far from the ceiling d i , which stand at the bottom on an annular, hollow cast-iron box k 1 , initially adjoin burner b. The cavity formed by these two tubes 1 c ^ 2 f 2 communicates the cast in the same openings by means of the box below the χ k 1, k is above the other hand by a ring plate. 2 completed, which is provided with six circular openings for receiving the connecting pipe pieces r 2 . Around the two pipes C 1 C 2 just mentioned are again arranged two concentric but unequal long pipes C 3 i 4 ; they stand on a ring plate k 3 located above the aforementioned ring-shaped box k x , which has several, here 10 pieces, openings for the pipe sections r 3 to connect the box space χ with the cavity created by the two pipes c 3 <: 4 / 4 . The ring plate k% superimposed with their three lugs located at the circumference on the corresponding inner of a short Cylinderstückes f '5, which is anschliefsend on the outward circumference of the box / ^. 1 The cavity f x formed by the tubes C 3 ^ 4 is now closed above in that the inner one of the two carries a cover plate d, and the outer, longer i 4 also carries a cover plate d 2 above it. Finally, there is another and also longer pipe <r 5 ; it is the bottom of the Cylinderstück c 'b as its extension and round abschliefsend, and upwardly through. a third cover plate d 3 delimits; this completes the actual furnace. The two uppermost ceilings d 2 d 3 are provided with corresponding openings for the connecting pipe pieces r t , which connect the inner cavities / 2/4 through which fresh air flows with the room to be heated. All this is now surrounded by a furnace jacket m, equipped with appropriately perforated ornamentation and closed above with a perforated cover, which has the purpose of intercepting and conveying the direct heat rays from the outermost pipe c 5.
The discharge pipe α for the burnt air goes from near the middle of the space between the two uppermost cover plates d. 2 d 3 off; also has a simple closing flap ν Λ , but also an easily removable cover h in front of the flap, which, in possible cases, allows a part of the burnt air to be used with the heat still present in it. Two rectangular channels O 1 C 2 which pass through the ring-shaped box laterally, diametrically and which are accessible from the outside through openwork and removable rosettes attached to the jacket, allow the burner to be ignited and monitored. The course of the heating system, which can already be seen from the description, is now briefly as follows: The burnt, hot gas air rises up the combustion chamber /, upwards, hits the first cover plate Λζ, turns around there, flushing the connecting pipe sections r 2 vertically; then the room / 3 flows off-
Windwärts running perpendicularly crosses the connecting tube r s, to turn "5 upward to get into the space _ /, and finally the connecting pipes r 4 umfliefsend through the discharge pipe α to escape to the chimney against the annular box k \. A part of the room air is forwarded through the flame to the chimney on the route just indicated; another, smaller part is used again to warm the room through the innermost pipe 7 ; while completely new, fresh air is led into and through the furnace through the supply pipe α by she warms up on the hot walls of it.
This kind of air supply and discharge causes the bad draft on the windows and doors avoided and at the same time achieved an appropriate ventilation.
A furnace built on the same principle but without a jacket and without the outer concentric pair of tubes C 3 e A for very small rooms is shown in FIGS. 4, 5 and 6.
