Process for the preparation of diarylides of ß - ß - ß '- ß'-dioxyanthracenedicarboxylic acids It has been found that diarylides of ß - ß - ß'- ß'-dioxyanthracenedicarboxylic acids which are valuable in color are obtained when 2-6-dioxyanthraoene-3 - 7-dicarboxylic acid or 2-7-dioxyanthraoene-3-6-dicarboxylic acid, obtainable for example by the process of patent 604 28o, by condensation with primary or secondary arylamines converted into the corresponding arylides by known methods.
Uniform reactions are obtained in the present process in a smooth reaction
Diarylides of the dioxyanthracenedicarboxylic acids. This smooth course of the reaction could
not be foreseen; much more it was to be expected that the diarylid formation would not
runs uniformly and mixtures of mono- and diarylides would be formed.
Beispiele i. 6oo Gewichtsteile
Aminen entsprechenden Diarylide. The new compounds are valuable intermediates for the preparation of dyestuffs. They claim considerable interest in dyeing because, when developed with the diazo compounds, they form bases which are red, violet upon coupling with the previously known arylides of 2-3-oxynaphthoic acid and blue tones result in predominantly green tones, which are characterized by good fastness properties. Examples i. 600 parts by weight of chlorobenzene, 38 parts by weight of 2-6-diacetoxyanthracene-3-7-dicarboxylic acid and 46 parts by weight of phosphorus pentachloride are heated to about 130 ° until everything has gone into solution with a yellow color. The resulting acid chloride crystallizes out in highly refractive prisms on cooling and can be isolated. Isolation is not necessary for further reaction with bases. Rather, the hot reaction mixture is allowed to cool to about 100 °, 23 g of o-toluidine are added in portions and the mixture is heated to the boil for some time. When diluted with cyclchexane, the di-ortoluidid of 2-6-diacetoxyanthracene-3-7-dicarboxylic acid separates out as a yellow powder. It is filtered off with suction, washed out, suspended in alcohol and stirred with concentrated sodium hydroxide solution in the cold until everything has dissolved with a violet color. When acidified, the di-o-toluidide of 2-6-dioxyanthracene-3-7-dicarboxylic acid separates out as a yellow powder. If, in this example, the 23 g of o-toluidine are replaced by equimolecular amounts of other aromatic amines, e.g. B. by 20 g of aniline or 27 g of p-anisidine or 31 g of 5-chloro-2-toluidine, and if the rest of the procedure is as stated above, one obtains the 'the applied. Amines corresponding diarylides.
Verwendet man Naphthylamine, Aminodiphenyle, Aminocarbazole usw. an
entsprechenden Diaryliden. - -2.
If you use naphthylamines, aminodiphenyls, aminocarbazoles, etc.
Place of the aromatic amines mentioned, -so one arrives at the in the same way
corresponding diarylides. - -2. In a mixture of 500 parts by weight of chlorobenzene,
3o parts by weight of 2-7-dioxyanthracene-3-6-dicarboxylic acid and 23 parts by weight
13 parts by weight of phosphorus trichloride are added dropwise to p-toluidine at 20 °
heated to boiling until the evolution of hydrochloric acid has ended. After distilling off
of the solvent with steam, the residue is suspended in alcohol and
bring it into solution in the cold with concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. By diluting
the di-p-toluidide precipitates with water and the addition of acid. the 2-7-dioxyanthracene-3
- 6-dicarboxylic acid as a yellow to orange powder. It is sucked off and
washed neutral with water.
Diaryliden. If the 23 parts by weight of p-toluidine are replaced by equimolecular amounts
other amines, one arrives in the same way at those corresponding to the amines
Diarylids.
