Zum Festhalten der Haubenbleche von Kraftfahrzeugen hat man bereits Haubenhalter verwendet, die auf der Innenseite der Haubenbleche angebracht wurden und mit einem abgefederten, durch eine Öffnung des Haubenbleches von außen zu bedienenden Haken in eine am Fahrzeugrahmen befestigte öse eingreifen. Sobald der Griff k so weit gekippt ist, daß die Nase / von der Öse 0 freikommt, bewirkt die Spannung der Feder c, daß der Bolzen δ in die Höhe schnellt und die Nase j des Griffs h jetzt auf der Außenseite der Öse 0 in die Höhe gleitet. Der Haubenhalter ist dann vollkommen gelöst. Wird der Griff k losgelassen, so fällt er vermöge seiner Schwere in die Stellung nach Fig. 3. Zweckmäßig wird jedoch der zum Auslösen des Haubenhalters angewendete Aufwärtszug an dem Grifft fortgesetzt, um das nicht mehr vom Haubenhalter festgehaltene Haubenblech α in die Höhe zu klappen. Soll die Haube geschlossen werden, so wird das Haubenblech α nach unten geklappt, wobei die Nase j des Griffs k gegen die Außenseite der Öse 0 stößt. Nunmehr wird ein Druck auf den Griff k nach unten und innen ausgeübt, wodurch der Griff k, der durch den Stift i mit dem Haken f verbunden ist und sich auf den Zapfen h auflegt, den Bolzen δ mit dem Haken f nach unten in die Stellung nach Fig. 4 drückt. Der Druck muß so stark sein, daß die Nase j mit dem Haken f in das Loch e' der Öse 0 eintreten kann.
