Abstract

An apparatus (10) for receiving at least one control channel allocated at least to a user for at least one of uplink and downlink directions in a network, wherein the at least one control channel is arranged as at least a part of a modular structure comprising modular code blocks of at least two different sizes, said apparatus comprising means for searching for an appropriate code block in the modular structure of the at least one control channel,wherein the modular structure forms a tree where each of the modular code blocks defines one node of the tree,characterized in thateach of the nodes comprises signalling entries coded by a given code rate, and wherein the signalling entries include information blocks, and each information block of a signalling entry is rate matched to anode of the tree.

Claims (18)

  1. An apparatus (10) for receiving at least one control channel allocated at least to a user for at least one of uplink and downlink directions in a network, wherein the at least one control channel is arranged as at least a part of a modular structure comprising modular code blocks of at least two different sizes, said apparatus comprising means for searching for an appropriate code block in the modular structure of the at least one control channel, wherein the modular structure forms a tree where each of the modular code blocks defines one node of the tree, characterized in that each of the nodes comprises signalling entries coded by a given code rate, and wherein the signalling entries include information blocks, and each information block of a signalling entry is rate matched to anode of the tree.
  2. The apparatus (10) according to claim 1, wherein the means for searching comprises means for searching for a user equipment specific media access control ID in nodes of the control channel.
  3. The apparatus (10) according to any preceding claim, wherein each information block is coded and modulated exactly to sub-carrier symbols forming a coded node of the tree.
  4. The apparatus (10) according to any preceding claim, wherein the means for searching is configured to search for an appropriate code block by using an identifier specific to the apparatus.
  5. The apparatus (10) according to any preceding claim, wherein the means for searching is configured to search in the nodes of the tree for a specific identifier to be associated to the apparatus.
  6. The apparatus (10) according to any preceding claim, wherein the tree is a binary tree.
  7. The apparatus (10) according to any of claims 1 to 5, wherein the tree is a tree of variable code rates.
  8. The apparatus (10) according to any preceding claim, which is a user equipment, wherein one or more of the following restrictions i) to iv) hold forthe apparatus: - i) each node of the tree corresponds to a defined set of sub-carriers; - ii) the apparatus is configured to blindly detect a rate matching factor in the searching in the modular structure; - iii) the apparatus is configured for a parallelization of searching and decoding processes; - iv) the apparatus is configured to search and decode in control channels in one or more of the following three orders: from a largest control channel to a smallest control channel, from a smallest control channel to a largest control channel, or from a control channel whose signal-tointerference-and-noise-ratio, SINR, is closest to an expected SINR value at the apparatus, to a control channel whose SINR deviates more from the expected SINR value.
  9. A method, comprising: receiving, by an apparatus (10), at least one control channel allocated at least to a user for at least one of uplink and downlink directions in a network, wherein the at least one control channel is arranged as at least a part of a modular structure comprising modular code blocks of at least two different sizes; and searching, by the apparatus, for an appropriate code block in the modular structure of the at least one control channel, wherein the modular structure forms a tree where each of the modular code blocks defines one node of the tree, characterized in that each of the nodes comprises signalling entries coded by a given code rate, and wherein the signalling entries include information blocks, and each information block of a signalling entry is rate matched to a node of the tree, and wherein the apparatus is configured for a parallelization of searching and decoding processes.
  10. A method, comprising: receiving, by an apparatus (10), at least one control channel allocated at least to a user for at least one of uplink and downlink directions in a network, wherein the at least one control channel is arranged as at least a part of a modular structure comprising modular code blocks of at least two different sizes; and searching, by the apparatus, for an appropriate code block in the modular structure of the at least one control channel, wherein the modular structure forms a tree where each of the modular code blocks defines one node of the tree, characterized in that each of the nodes comprises signalling entries coded by a given code rate, and wherein the signalling entries include information blocks, and each information block of a signalling entry is rate matched to a node of the tree, and wherein the apparatus is configured to search and decode in control channels in an order from a largest control channel to a smallest control channel.
  11. A method, comprising: receiving, by an apparatus (10), at least one control channel allocated at least to a user for at least one of uplink and downlink directions in a network, wherein the at least one control channel is arranged as at least apart of a modular structure comprising modular code blocks of at least two different sizes; and searching, by the apparatus, for an appropriate code block in the modular structure of the at least one control channel, wherein the modular structure forms a tree where each of the modular code blocks defines one node of the tree, characterized in that each of the nodes comprises signalling entries coded by a given code rate, and wherein the signalling entries include information blocks, and each information block of a signalling entry is rate matched to a node of the tree, and wherein the apparatus is configured to search and decode in control channels in an order from a smallest control channel to a largest control channel.
  12. A method, comprising: receiving, by an apparatus (10), at least one control channel allocated at least to a user for at least one of uplink and downlink directions in a network, wherein the at least one control channel is arranged as at least apart of a modular structure comprising modular code blocks of at least two different sizes; and searching, by the apparatus, for an appropriate code block in the modular structure of the at least one control channel, wherein the modular structure forms a tree where each of the modular code blocks defines one node of the tree, characterized in that each of the nodes comprises signalling entries coded by a given code rate, and wherein the signalling entries include information blocks, and each information block of a signalling entry is rate matched to a node of the tree, and wherein the apparatus is configured to search and decode in control channels in an order from a control channel whose signal-to-interference-and-noiseratio, SINR, is closest to an expected SINR value at the apparatus, to a control channel whose SINR deviates more from the expected SINR value.
  13. The method according to claims 9-12, wherein the searching by the apparatus comprises searching for a user equipment specific media access control ID in nodes of the control channel.
  14. The method according to any of claims 9 to 13, wherein each information block is coded and modulated exactly to sub-carrier symbols forming a coded node of the tree.
  15. The method according to any of claims 9 to 14, wherein the searching by the apparatus comprises searching for an appropriate code block by using an identifier specific to the apparatus.
  16. The method according to any of claims 9 to 15, wherein the apparatus is configured to search in the nodes of the tree for a specific identifier to be associated to the apparatus.
  17. The method according to any of claims 9 to 16, wherein the tree is a binary tree or a tree of variable code rates, and wherein one or more of the following restrictions i) to ii) hold for the method: - i) each node of the tree corresponds to a defined set of sub-carriers; - ii) in the searching in the modular structure, a rate matching factor is blindly detected.
  18. A computer program comprising computer executable instructions, which when executed by a computer (10), cause the computer to perform each of the method steps of any of claims 9 to 17.
