Abstract
The procedure consists of cutting old carriages (1) into three sections along predetermined lines (2a, 3), lowering the middle sections (9) and re-fitting them to the end sections (7a) by means of door modules (22) which are both structural and functional. The middle sections of two adjacent carriages can be articulated to one another on a central bogie (16).
