Abstract

The front hood has a sub-structure (1) and an overlying covering shell (2), separated from one another by an intermediate deformation layer (3), for floating support of the covering shell without direct connection with the sub-structure and providing a deformation path (x) allowing absorbing of the impact force upon a front impact with a pedestrian.
