Abstract

The natural effect paving is produced by bonding a shaped material stone slab (3) onto a concrete base slab (2). The concrete has a recessed top surface profile with a surrounding raised lip (4). Recesses (8) in the concrete serve to take excess bonder while the remainder of the excess bonder is squeezed out of the sides of the slab. The bonder recess is around the inside edge of the lip or has a pattern between the two layers. The natural stone layer is fitted using a programmed force and/or vibration. A suitable bonder is a cement-resin mixture which sets hard.
