Abstract

The invention relates to a simple device for releasably connecting a drill pipe to a rotary drive, the production, maintenance and use of which involve little expense. The device avoids the dangerous handling at a height of 6 to 8 m in the area of the rotary drive and at the top end of the drill pipe. The device according to the invention has a transmission means with which the torque can be transmitted over a relatively large distance, for example from the ground, to the connecting element, for example a push-in pin, which is guided in an axially displaceable manner in a connecting means at the rotary drive. This means is designed, for example, as a crankshaft and advantageously has a telescopic section as well as an element which can perform an angular movement, for example a steel rope of predetermined flexibility or a universal joint. The releasable connection between the transmission means and the displaceable push-in pin is formed by a hook on the transmission means and a ring on the connecting means, the ring being connected via a pivot pin to the rotationally-fixed push-in pin. <IMAGE>
