Description
Process for the production of porous and dry blast furnace slag by Water The invention relates to a method for producing porous and dry blast furnace foam slag using water.
According to the invention, the liquid slag as well as that for making it porous this serving water on a wheel rotating at an adjustable speed abandoned with a trough-shaped wheel rim, with only as much water added as possible becomes how imperative for puffing up. Here part of the water is in the trough-shaped wheel rim is introduced before the liquid slag enters the trough falls. The slag is expanded by the fact that it expands with the water meets at the deepest point of the trough-shaped wheel rim. After being noticed in the slag is sprinkled through the other part of the extinguishing water from above, whereby it is achieved that the slag breaks up in the trough, with water briefly and intimately mixed and becomes porous more quickly. This effect can be increased if water under high pressure is used to sprinkle the slag. Instead of pressurized water, high-pressure steam or compressed air can also be used. Through leadership; the liquid slag and water in the spinning one Wheel rim is also achieved that only so long and so much water with the slag comes into contact than just needed to expand and porosity of the slag is, and no slag is uninflated and stuck in the trough. The speed the rotation of the wheel is to be chosen so that the slag is just as long and by no means stays longer in the hollow than is necessary to inflate it, and the inflated slag is thrown off the bike with a lot of inherent heat as soon as the foamy slag is formed is achieved. Any remainder of the water used for the quenching then drips from the walls of the bowl rim downwards.
In known methods and devices is to promote the liquid Slag in a gutter requires copious amounts of excess water to stick to avoid the slag in the gutter and especially to prevent the slag from floating away to secure. This has the consequence that the puffing and the promotion of Slag forms a large amount of fine sand, which with the water of the porous material is discharged separately. In the method according to the invention, the production a porous, dry slag through a moving channel, namely the trough-shaped one Wheel rim of a spinning wheel, accomplished so that practically no water as a funding for the slag is required.
A device suitable for carrying out the method is shown in the drawing shown schematically in one embodiment.
The liquid slag coming from the blast furnace 0 serving Channel 1 leads to an adjustable speed rotating end wheel 2, which has a wide, trough-shaped recess Wreath wears. From the water connection 3 the wheel 2 is the extinguishing water in the way fed that part of the water in the trough-shaped recess of the wheel rim runs before the liquid slag falls from the channel r onto the wheel 2, and a other part of the water sprinkled the slag from above. Closes to the wheel 4. a chute via which the inflated slag slides to the conveying connection. Any excess water falls from the bike to the water basin.
The procedure goes something like this. Around the apex of the wheel 2, the trough receives a flow of water from the line 3, which is the bottom the hollow fills.
Almost simultaneously, the liquid slag then falls out of channel I. into the hollow, basically hits the water and puffs up by doing this partially solidified. At the same time, a second water flow 3 or higher also hits Steam or compressed air from outside against the bloated slag, making it fine is divided. Due to the short contact time of the water on the slag, prevents the absorption of water on the part of the bloated slag and thereby due to the inherent heat of the slag, the slag is almost dry Conditions won. The puffed, porous, foamy and dry slag arrives then over the chute 4 to the conveyor, while the excess Water mainly falls from the wheel 2 separately from the slag into a basin, from which it is fed back to the water connection 3 for further use.
That according to the present procedure and with the implementation of it The material obtained from the device can be used for cement production, construction and insulation purposes, for stone manufacture and the like.
