an Kollektoren «to collectors «
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 2. Juli 1929 abPatented in the German Empire on July 2, 1929
In the known holding devices for collector brushes on electric motors, in which the brush (piece of coal or the like.) Against the force of a spring from a Guide bushing out and pressed onto the collector according to the brush wear it is not possible to determine whether the brush is worn without a special check of the motor has already reached the permissible level or not. To avoid damage to the motor from worn brushes, has been proposed the brush: Js abutment of a second spring in the Wei.-e to train that when the Bürj-e This dissolved up to the bearing point of the additional spring and thereby the brush from the Ko'-lector is suddenly moved away. The known versions have the disadvantage that:> they require a number of design changes to normal machines that are below Circumstances are very difficult to carry out, and that especially those that already exist Motors with this device can not easily be provided.
In order to remedy these difficulties, the proposal has now been made, that of withdrawal of the brush remainder from the collector serving spring into the interior of the guide bushing itself.
So it has been proposed to design the upper end of the brush as a pin on which an auxiliary spring engages with the interposition of an insulating ring, so that the auxiliary spring after the brush has worn out, the remainder of the pin lifts off the collector. In the 3i The following is a particularly advantageous embodiment of such an arrangement shown in which the lifting spring is arranged on the brush itself.
According to the invention, the device is made so that the brush on its from the collector opposite side has a bore in which a socket o. The like. Is attached,. which one acting on her auxiliary spring of relatively large resilience and one this spring lifts the bolt made of insulating material that is pressed against the collector, which lifts the remaining brush residue from the collector in the event of excessive wear of the brush. Such a one Device has the advantage that the carbon brush is sufficient after its wear is lifted quickly and in its entire width from the collector. Besides, lets they can be produced very cheaply. A brush designed in this way can also be used the already existing engines can be used without further ado.

The new holding device is in one embodiment in Fig. Ι with unused Brush, in Fig. 2 with a worn brush, as far as it comes into question, shown schematically in longitudinal section.
The collector brush (made of carbon) b, which has a bore on its side facing away from the collector α, is arranged displaceably in the socket c in the manner known per se and is pressed by the spring d against the collector α . In the bore of the collector brush b , the (metal) socket e is suitably fastened (for example by soldering to the copper-plated inner wall of the bore). In this socket there is the bolt f, made of insulating material, which can be moved along the socket e and which is pressed by the spring g located between the base of the socket e and the bolt / away from the socket base against the base h of the bore. The spring g is much more powerful than the spring d, so that the part of the insulating floor resting on the floor h / when the collector brush b is inadmissibly worn, is pressed so far out and with such great force against the collector α that it is still existing brush residue i (Fig. 2) is pushed away from the collector α against the force of the relatively weak spring d.
The contact between the brush residue i and the collector α is interrupted, the motor is no longer operational, so it can no longer be destroyed by inadmissible further abrasion of the brush residue. The displacement path of the bolt f is limited on the one hand by the spring g and on the other hand by the stop surface k in the bore of the collector brush.
