Um das die Strohschüttler der Dreschmaschine verlassende Stroh nochmals auszuschütteln, zum
Zwecke, die noch darin befindlichen Körner zu gewinnen, gelangt dasselbe auf den rechenartigen
Rost A, welcher aus neben einander angeordneten Stäben α besteht. Diese Stäbe
sind auf einem Querstück B befestigt, welches an den beiden Enden Zapfen C besitzt, die
in Lagerstutzen D sich drehen; diese Lagerstützen D sind auf dem Sammel- (Schütte!-)
Brett der Dreschmaschine befestigt, so dafs der ganze Rechen die hin- und hergehenden Bewegungen
dieses Sammelbrettes mitmacht. Um nun dem Rechen A die zum Ausschütteln des
Strohes nöthige schüttelnde verticale Bewegung zu ertheilen, erhält derselbe an beiden Seiten
Arme E, welche mit kurzen Zapfen F in Coulissen G geführt werden, die je nach ihrer
Schrägstellung dem Rechen eine mehr oder weniger starke schüttelnde Bewegung ertheilen; sind
die Coulissen G z. B. so angeordnet, dafs ihre Längsachsen parallel mit der Bewegungsrichtung
des Schüttelbrettes ist, so macht der Rechen gar keine schüttelnde Bewegung; je mehr dagegen die Coulissen schräg gegen diese
Mittellstellung verdreht werden, desto gröfser wird der Ausschlag des Rechens in senkrechter
Richtung. Es kann übrigens auch die Achse des Rechens, statt mit dem Schüttelbrett, mit
den hin- und hergehenden Enden der Strohschüttelladen verbunden werden, wobei dieselbe
