In fast allen Anlagen elektrischer Weichen- und Signalstellwerke ist es nicht zu vermeiden, daß in einem einzigen Kabel mehrere Gruppen von Weichen oder Signalleitungen S zusammengefaßt werden. Die Weichen- und Signalschaltungen sind deshalb in der Regel derart ausgebildet, daß schädliche Folgen von Leitungsberührungen fremder Stromzweige oder Erdschlüsse ausgeschaltet werden; mindestens werden sich diese Fehler meistens im Stellwerk zeitig bemerkbar machen. Es kann jedoch vorkommen, daß erst bei zwei verschiedenen Leitungsberührungen oder Erdschlüssen auffallende Störungen auftreten, wobei einer dieser Fehler schon längere Zeit bestehen konnte. Häufig ist es auch beim besten Willen nicht möglich, eine Schaltung ohne beträchtliche Komplikation so auszubilden, daß Leitungsberührungen fremder ao Zweige eine Störungsanzeige im Stellwerk ermöglichen. Ganz besonders gilt dies für gewisse Lichtsignalschaltungen, bei denen eine Leitungsberührung das Mitleuchten des Fahrtsignals bei gestelltem Hauptsignal zur as Folge haben kann.In almost all systems of electrical turnout and signal interlockings, it is unavoidable that several groups of points or signal lines S are combined in a single cable.
