Description

Process for the production of washable wallpaper It has been shown that you get extremely durable and waterproof wallpapers, if you onto the paper web to be coated with a layer of paint in the usual way, e.g. B. by hand or roller pressure, spraying on or brushing on, such pigment suspensions applies whose binder consists of an aqueous emulsion of an oily or resinous Condensation product from polyhydric alcohols, polybasic acids and multiple unsaturated fatty acids together with saponification products obtained by means of aqueous ammonia consists of waxes. The wallpaper paints produced with the marked binder show the great advantage over the known varnish colors that they make it possible to When producing the wallpaper using roller printing, several samples can be produced as quickly as desired Imprint successively without the even damp colors intermingling get lost. The resistance of the colors to weathering and other corrosive Influences meet high demands. Show even after soaking in water for weeks the wallpaper produced according to the present process did not show the slightest damage; likewise, brushing with warm soapy water does not cause the paint to peel off. As a result the wax content in the binder, special effects can be achieved by that the dry paint coatings are treated with the brush, whereby the surfaces a complete or (e.g. through the use of stencils) partial matt gloss :Experienced.

To produce a washable wallpaper one proceeds z. B. as follows: 100 parts by weight of montan wax are mixed with about q.o parts by weight of ammonia solution (specific weight 0.926) and zoo parts by weight of water saponified. This solution will after dilution with zoo parts of water with 100 parts of a condensation product, that one by transesterification of 87z parts of linseed oil and 276 parts of glycerol and the following Esterification of the resulting mixture of linseed oil fatty acid monoglyceride and free Glycerides obtained with 518 parts of phthalic anhydride, @emulsified. This emulsion zoo parts of pigment are now incorporated in a known manner. The up to printability Diluted ink is applied using one of the usual printing devices, e.g. B. a Multi-roller frame, applied to the paper web and happened in the usual way Drying chamber and, possibly. a brush machine before rolling up.

For the production of glossy paper one has already suggested To cover paper webs with a layer of color, the solutions of shellac and Contains beeswax soaps. In contrast, they provide according to the method of this invention pigment suspensions applied to the production of washable wallpapers, which the Resin-like condensation products identified above together with means of ammonia saponified waxes contain matt paint coatings that differ from those mentioned above Glossy paper color coatings also due to excellent resistance to soap and and detergent solutions containing soda.
