Bei dem in Fig. 1 bis 3 dargestellten Rollenlager wird nur eine halbe Lagerschale e mit Lagerdeckel b angewendet. Zwischen dem Zapfen α und der Lagerschale e laufen zwei aus Gliedern ο gebildete, die Rollen c tragende Ketten und treten unterhalb der Welle in die beiden Führungen η η, zwischen welchen die Rollen einen kleinen Spielraum haben. Auf dem Zapfen sind zwei den Ringnuthen c1 der Rollen entsprechende Spurkränze angeordnet, wodurch die Rollen Zwanglauf erhalten. Der Durchmesser der Rollen c ist gleich dem Halbmesser des Zapfens a, so dafs bei einer Umdrehung .zwei Rollen aus dem Lager aus- und zwei dafür wieder einlaufen, und da die Kette aus 30 Rollen besteht, macht die Rollenkette erst bei 15 maliger Umdrehung der Welle einen Umlauf. Die Abnutzung der Rollen fällt deshalb sehr gering aus, und da von allen Seiten frische Luft eintreten kann, kommt ein Warmlaufen des Zapfens nicht vor. Man kann durch Vermehrung der Rollen den Rollengang noch verlangsamen oder, wo dies nicht nöthig, weniger Rollen anbringen. Die Deckel y schützen den Rollengang gegen Einfallen von Staub u. dergl., während das Lager nach unten vollständig offen ist. Die Rollenführungen η η sind mittelst der Leisten rr und Bolzen h h mit einander verbunden und am Lager befestigt, wobei die Verbindung S S noch eine Verstärkung herstellt. Um die Rollengänge bei heftigem Stofs vor Beschädigung zu schützen, ist unter der Welle die Querschiene m angebracht und mit dem Lager verbunden. Um einen ruhigen Gang zu erzielen, kann man zwischen die Lagerschale e und den Lagerdeckel b eine Gummi-, Filz- oder dergleichen Unterlage einfügen.In the roller bearing shown in Fig. 1 to 3, only half a bearing shell e with bearing cover b is used.
