It is known to use cylindrical safety inserts
Put on ring-shaped solder contacts with axially tensioned melting threads, to which the melting threads are internally soldered
Capsule-like capsules filled with liquid porcelain cement are then placed over these solder contacts
Front contacts pressed so that the porcelain cement penetrates into the interior of the cartridge as far as it is not filled with sand
is. The superfluous porcelain cement is pressed sideways past the ring-shaped solder contacts and outwards
removed here. Obviously, this method has the major disadvantage that porcelain cement
between the forehead and solder contact and, albeit the mutual
The pressure between the two is very large, after all, a large transition resistance
forms. This error is avoided with the new procedure. In this case there will be no
ring-shaped solder contact attached, but bent outwards from the inside of the cartridge
Contact strips, at the inner ends of which the melting threads are attached. The strength of this streak is taking into account
the outside diameter of the fuse link or its base and, on the other hand, the inside diameter of the front contacts
dimensioned so that the latter can be pressed tightly over the solder contacts. If here the forehead contact
was filled with liquid cement, the excess amount can be seen between the solder contact strips
escape to the outside. This way there will be better contact between solder and
Forehead contact guaranteed. Also, the pressing does not need to be done with so much pressure
take place as in the method described above, so that a deformation as a result
the front contacts is less to be feared.
Fig. 1 zeigt den kapseiförmigen Stirnkontakt,
In FIGS. 1 to 9 of the drawing, both methods are shown, namely in FIGS. 2 to 5 the previous one, in FIGS. 6 to 9 the new one. Fig. 1 shows the capsule-shaped end contact, the cavity of which is filled with liquid porcelain cement. In the other figures, α is the porcelain body of the fuse link, which is provided with the solder contact or contacts b to which the melting threads c are soldered. According to the previous method, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, these solder contacts are designed as round, ring-shaped domes which rest on the end face and then fit into the cavity of the end contact according to FIG. 1. According to the new method according to FIGS. 6 to 9, however, the solder contacts are metal strips which are bent outwards over the edge from the inner cavity of the cartridge. Their thickness was measured in such a way that they fill the space between the porcelain body and the forehead contact. Obviously, the superfluous porcelain cement next to these strips can penetrate to the outside. As a result of this, as well as the longer slideway between solder and end contacts, these contact points are cleaner and offer less resistance to the current transfer. In the case of sufficiently strong fusible conductors, special soldered contacts are even unnecessary, so that the ends of those fusible conductors can be turned over. Naturally, by correctly dimensioning the porcelain body or the inside diameter of the front contact, a sufficient fit must be achieved.
