Ein Stabilisator ist z. B. das Diphenylamin, ferner Harnstoffderivate; ein Dephlegmator z. B. der Campher. Wenn man dafür sorgt, daß diese Stabilisatoren und Dephlegmatoren in allerfeinster Verteilung, also in höchster Kolloiddispersion, die einzelnen Cellulosederivatmoleküle umgeben und so auch die geringste Abspaltung von nitrosen Gasen im Keime ersticken, so erreicht man auch hei Nitrocelluloselacken sehr gute Resultate. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man noch weitergehende Stabilität durch Zugabe von artfremden Schutzkolloiden erreichen kann, während die arteigenen Schutzkolloide, wie z. B. Acetylcellulose und Celluloseäther, deren Anwendung bereits bekannt ist, lange nicht denselben Effekt erreichen.
