Method of dyeing animal fiber with water-soluble ester-like
Derivatives (ester salts) of vat dyes It has been shown that water-soluble,
ester-like derivatives (ester salts) of vat dyes, as they are, for. B. by treatment
the leuco vat dyes with chlorosulfonic acid in the presence of a tertiary base
on wool and other animal fibers often result in dyeings that
very difficult to develop in a suitable way. Liver oxidation is easily obtained
of the dye or an excessive yellowing of the fiber due to the excess of the
Oxidizing agent, so that cloudy, poorly lightfast colorations are obtained.
It has now been found that this over-oxidation of the dye or
the strong yellowing of the fiber (wool) largely due to the addition of water-soluble

Beispiele für Wolle I a.

This procedure differs fundamentally from that of the
Patent 513 357. There is a copper salt in conjunction with a rhodan salt for
Developing an ester salt color used. Presumably copper rhodanide is itself
the oxidizing agent that causes development. The rhodan compound will
not destroyed. In the present case, however, is not a copper salt, but
a strong oxidizing agent used. The rhodan compound acts as a buffer substance,
prevents a possible over-oxidation and is destroyed by being effective.
