Process for the production of a urea calcium nitrate containing
Fertilizer It is known that the double salt urea-calcium nitrate (Ca (N O3) z --E-
4 N HZ- C O- N Hl) in such a way that one in a concentrated, z.
B. enters about 75% solution of calcium nitrate urea and the resulting hot
Mixture splashed. The resulting product is then used for the purpose of enhancement
its litter and storability are mostly subjected to post-drying.
This follow-up treatment is required in all cases in which this is necessary for education
of the double salt theoretically required mixing ratio not precisely adhered to
is.
It has now been found that the process is advantageous in this way
is carried out that the calcium nitrate solution -after entering the urea and
Mixing the two salts as much as possible before spraying, expedient
evaporated down to a water content of about 5 ° 1a and below. Here can
you can also start from less highly concentrated solutions, since before spraying
but a narrowing takes place.
Because the melting point of the very low-water urea - calcium nitrate
- Mixtures are very high, usually between 1.30 and 1500, - i.e. at temperatures
in which urea by itself both in the presence and in the absence of water "quickly
partly with the formation of ammonia and carbonic acid, partly with the formation of ammonia,
Biuret and cy anuric acid "is decomposed", so it was to be assumed that during evaporation
of the concentrated urea calcium nitrate solutions up to complete or almost
complete removal of the water urea decomposition occur to a large extent.
Surprisingly, however, this is not the case. The excretion of carbonate
Lime is negligible, and the biuret content is after several hours
The urea-calcium nitrate solution is heated at iSo ° practically no more than i bis
a ° / o. Urea alone, on the other hand, forms up to when heated. to his! Melting point
After only a few minutes, ten percent and more biuret and cyanuric acid. At Seih
It is not necessary for new processes to form the double salt
to strictly adhere to the theoretically necessary quantitative ratio of the two components,
but you can, provided the water is sufficiently removed by evaporation,
use one of the two components in large excess and still maintain it
injectable, rapidly solidifying and spreadable mixtures.
The present method also offers the advantage of being sat during
and after the
Splashing a water evaporation or drying of the
Salt can be omitted and you get a spherical product with a smooth surface, the
is particularly easy to spread wins.
Beispiel I In eine Lösung-von i64 g Calciumnitrat (I Mal) in Zoo kg
in Beispiel I angegebenen Weise verspritzt. Das gewonnene Produkt, das im wesentlichen.
kugelige Form besitzt, enthält auf I Mol Ca (N08)2 4NH2-CO#NH2 noch I Mo!
Calciumnitrat (I Mol). und 366 kg Harnstoff (6 Mal) in etwa 25o kg Wasser
verspritzt. Die. erhaltenen, meist kugeligen Körner enthalten neben-etwa I °i. Wasser
auf I Mal des Doppelsalzes noch 2 Mal Harnstoff.. Das Produkt ist gut streu-und
lagerfähig; ein Nachtrocknen ist nicht erforderlich. Der Biuretgehalt beträgt etwa
I bis 214.EXAMPLE I 240 kg of urea (4 times) in solid or dissolved form are added to a solution of 164 g calcium nitrate (I times) in zoo kg of water, whereupon the mass is evaporated in vacuo to such an extent that the water content is only is about 0 to 2'1 ". In order to keep the mixture in the melt flight, it is necessary to regulate the negative pressure so that the boiling point does not fall below the solidification point, which gradually rises to about 150 °; the melt is then by means of . Nozzles sprayed using compressed air or by running into a stream of air or. By means of rotating disks or centrifuges divided into droplets which quickly solidify. The spraying of the melt can also be carried out according to the methods of patents 518 and 525 542 or in the parabolic depression. It may be useful to add substances such as barium hydroxide to the liquid, which react with the sprayed melt Form a non-hygroscopic protective layer. Post-drying is not necessary. The composition of the products obtained corresponds to the double salt Ca (NOg) z + 4 NHZ # CO- XH2; the Biuref content is less than 211, Example-A solution of 328 kg calcium nitrate (2 Mot) and 24o kg urea (4 mol) in about 400 kg water is evaporated in a vacuum to a water content of about 1Q / " Heating to about 11:20 is necessary, since the melting point of this mixture is considerably lower than that of the pure double salt. Spraying is then carried out in the manner indicated in Example I. The product obtained, which is essentially spherical in shape, contains up to 1 mol Ca (N08) 2 4NH2-CO # NH2 or I Mo! Ca (NOg) 2 and about 0.7% water; it is free from biuret. Example 3 A solution of 164 kg calcium nitrate (1 mol) and 366 kg urea (6 times) in about 250 kg of water is evaporated in a vacuum to a water content of about 2 ° J; here, too, the solidification point is lower than that of the pure double salt, so that only a temperature of about 10 ° is required then mechanically sprayed in a known manner spherical grains contain besides-about 1 ° i. Water on 1 time of the double salt, 2 more times urea .. The product is easy to spread and can be stored; post-drying is not necessary. The biuret content is around I to 214.
