Description
Process for the production of liquid products from coal or carbon-containing substances The invention relates to a process for the production of liquid products from and for the liquefaction of coal or carbon-containing substances by pressure heating in the presence of hydrogen or hydrogen-containing gases and vapors in the presence of a catalyst and consists in that one, several or all stages of the pressure heating are carried out in the presence of a catalyst which is obtained by dissolving lux mass in nitric acid and by precipitating the solution with ammonia! It is then possible to achieve a better yield of liquid products in the hydrogenation than is the case when using ordinary lux mass as a catalyst, which is known. The catalyst used according to the invention therefore shows a significantly greater catalytic effectiveness than the usual lux mass. Examples i. 2O4 g Carisborg lignite with 4% moisture, 1 8.5 g of ash and 1 8 i, 5 g leg coal contains in the presence of 20 g of commercially available Luxmasse that 4 g of water and 1 6 g of dry matter, in an autoclave at an initial pressure of ioo kg / cm ° heated with hydrogen. As soon as the temperature in the autoclave has risen to 45o to 46o'C, the heating is stopped. The temperature then drops, and when it is about 35 ° C, the gaseous and vaporous part of the reaction product at this temperature is released.
The yield, calculated on the dry and ash-free lignite, is the following -12.30 / 0 water, 4.9% to 22o ° boiling gasoline fraction, 5.5% between 22o and 300 ° boiling kerosene fractions, 3.8% to 300 ° boiling phenolic bodies, 39.6% asphalt-like residue soluble in carbon disulfide, 13% coal residue and 2o, 9o / o gaseous reaction products including losses.
The total yield of oil including the asphalt-like residue is therefore 53.8%, calculated on the dry and ash-free starting material.
Die erhaltene Ausbeute an Hydrierungsprodukten setzt sich wie folgt zusammen: 13,3 % Wasser, 10,7% bis 22o° siedende Benzinfraktion, 6,6% zwischen 220 und 3oo° siedende Kerosinfraktion, 4,7% bis 3oo° C siedende phenolische Körper, 38,2% asphaltartiger Rückstand, 3,6% Kohlerückstand und 22,9% gasförmige Reaktionsprodukte einschließlich Verluste.2.24 g of the same Carisborg lignite as in Example i, the 181.5 g of pure coal are mixed with a catalyst, which is described in the following Way out 20 g of the same lux mass as in example z -Has. . -The Luxxnasse wixd as far as possible dissolved in nitric acid, and the Solution .will be-- with. Arritnoniak like. The precipitated product is mixed with water washed and dried and then mixed with the brown coal. One then hydrogenates in the same way as in example i. The obtained yield of hydrogenation products is made up as follows: 13.3% water, 10.7% to 22o ° boiling gasoline fraction, 6.6% kerosene fraction boiling between 220 and 300 ° C, phenolic fraction boiling between 4.7% and 300 ° C Body, 38.2% asphalt residue, 3.6% coal residue and 22.9% gaseous Reaction products including losses.
Die Gesamtausbeute an öl einschließdi.ch des asphaltartigen Rückstandes beträgt mithin 6o,2%.The total yield of oil including the asphalt-like residue is therefore 6o.2%.
From the above comparative tests it can be seen that in the described A catalyst made from lux mass is more effective than the lux mass itself, which is known to have a better catalytic effect than ordinary iron oxide. The catalyst produced in the manner described from the lux mass is therefore also much more effective than ordinary iron oxide, which is by no means It is astonishing because it is well known that the effectiveness of catalysts depends greatly on the way they are produced depends, among other things, on their physical state of the catalyst, which is of great influence in catalytic reactions.
The application of the catalyst according to the invention is not to the Limited processes in which the hydrogenation is carried out in two stages under special circumstances, as mentioned in the examples. It can take place in all cases where carbonaceous raw materials are heated under pressure in the presence of hydrogen Achieving valuable products are treated.
When the hydrogenation of the coal is carried out in two or more stages is, which is carried out in the first stage under such conditions that for The main thing is that high-boiling products are obtained in one or the other Stages of the process in lower boiling products by pressure heating in The presence of hydrogen can convert the catalyst into one, several or all stages of the process.
