Description
Disc-shaped rotary valve for internal combustion engines The invention relates to a disc-shaped rotary valve for internal combustion engines, the known Compared to slide has the advantage that it is because of the simple design of the slide itself and the air-cooled housing is more reliable and easier to access.
The disc-shaped rotary valve forming the subject of the invention, whose housing is provided with connections to the cylinder, carburetor and exhaust, has according to the invention a housing which divides in the plane of the cylinder seat is. One part of the housing carries the connecting piece leading to the carburetor and the exhaust pipe, while the connection piece for the engine is arranged on the other part. According to of the invention also has the rotary valve seat surface of one housing part arched opening. With this opening. one of them works together on the rotary valve self-provided opening in such a way that temporarily the arc-shaped opening in one housing part with the mouths of the channels arranged on the other housing part can contact.
In the drawings there is an embodiment of one according to the invention formed D-slide valve with housing: Fig. x shows the rotary valve housing in side view and Fig. 2 (in the same direction of view) after removing the cover. Fig. 3 shows a top view of the entire device. In Fig. 4 is the case shown in a horizontal section along line A-B @ of Fig. f. Fig. 5 shows a section along line C-D of Fig. 3 in the direction of arrow E seen. Fig. b shows an inside view of the lid. Fig.7 illustrates the arrangement of the device on an engine.
The device consists of a housing part z with the pipe connections 2 for the entry of the gas mixture that comes from the carburetor, and 3 for the exhaust. The housing part z has on one side a round chamber 4 into which the control disk 5 with the sector cutout £ i is precisely fitted. This disk 5 is seated on an axis 7 with a screw-threaded shoulder. The second housing part 8, on which the pipe socket 9 is provided, which leads to the cylinder head ro, serves as the end of the chamber 4. This pipe socket 9 is, as Fig. Z and 3 show, opposite the pipe sockets 2 for the gas inlet and 3 for the exhaust. The housing part 8 has a circular arc-shaped recess zr, opposite which the two sector-shaped openings 12 and 13 open into the chamber 4. These openings 12 and 13 are offset from one another by 90 °; they provide the connection to the pipe sockets 2 and 3. If the disc 5 runs in the chamber q. around,. so the cutout 6 of the disk 5 alternately provides the connection between. the pipe socket 9 and the openings i2 or 13 , alternately this or that pipe is opened or closed, while conversely the other pipe is closed or opened. The structural design can be changed; For example, it is possible to divide the disk 5 into two disks which can be adjusted relative to one another. In this way, the individual periods can be made independent of one another.
The rotary movement of the disc 5 is brought about by a gear 14, that on. the shaft 7 of the disk 5 is seated. This gear can. by a gear chain or in any other way from the crankshaft of the engine in a certain ratio are driven.
The device can also be used for other piston engines.
