Press rum Manufacture of seamless lead pipes, especially cable jackets
At Alen presses for the production of pipes, from lead with a cross to the press ram
lying mandrel, it is known to be difficult to avoid that the pressing
lead used comes into contact with air, and that is caused by oxygen
the air xn the surface of the lead form oxide layers. Particularly disadvantageous
is this phenomenon when, as is often necessary, after being pressed out
a filling pulls the ram out of the recipient or during the return
of the ram opens a point on the wall of the recipient in order to remove molten lead
to be able to refill. This then occurs through contact with the air on the
Surface of the solidified lead residue remaining in the recipient an oxide layer,
experience has shown that not even with the newly added liquid lead filling
is eliminated. This oxide layer prevents complete welding of the solidified
Lead remains with the new filling and has the consequence that weak and leaky spots,
Cracks and the like appear in the pressed pipes.
In order to prevent the formation of oxide layers, it has already been proposed that
seal the recipient airtight with a cap before filling it with liquid lead,
suction the air present in the recipient and through an inert gas, for example
Nitrogen, followed by the introduction of the liquid lead into the
Recipients also with the exclusion of air through an opening in the cap
is appropriate, takes place. However, this procedure is relatively cumbersome.
It was also suggested for presses with the same ram and
Dorn proposed to surround the upper part of the recipient with a melting kettle and
the point of contact between the upper end of the press cylinder and the end of the press ram
always to be kept under liquid lead. This made air access impossible
made, but by the rapid influx of lead into the after retraction
of the press ram under an absolute vacuum, the impurities were also removed
torn into the recipient. It couldn't be prevented if,
as suggested, the lead flow was throttled through special slots because
the oxide from the freshly melted blocks is always included in the recipient
got. After each charging of the melting kettle
was also

Man
The invention relates to a Preßeinrich = device with which it allows

particularly high demands are placed on the pressed pieces to be produced.
However, the operation remains simpler than what was mentioned at the beginning as known.

In addition, the steady influx of lead is also advantageous here, which is the case with the

When using such a pressing device is therefore on relative

perfect welding of two successive metal fillings achieved,
As a result, cracks and weak points in the pressed pipes are not
can arise.
