Description
Process for the processing of hydrochloric iron pickling liquors on ferrous sulphate and hydrochloric acid In many wire drawing shops, sheet metal rolling mills, galvanizing plants, etc. Most of the wires, sheets, etc. to be pickled are pickled with sulfuric acid. Very often, however, it happens that in addition to the sulfuric acid pickle for a small part Hydrochloric acid pickling products are used. The elimination of the - containing sulfuric acid Pickling wastewater has recently ceased to be a problem. Is more difficult however, the removal of hydrochloric acid-containing pickling waste water, for which one has not yet been granted possessed appropriate process. The use of very expensive containment for the purpose of manufacture of ferric chloride is very uneconomical, especially as those present in the solution Acid residues are lost. The procedure described below provides a complete elimination of the hydrochloric acid pickling solution, in which all of the hydrochloric acid used is recovered, and not only that present as Eisienchlorid, but even. the free, d. H. acid not used during the pickling process.
Die Ausscheidung des Eisensulfates geht bei den bisher angewandten Verfahren nur sehr langsam vor sich und erfolgt meistens in der Form des wasserhaltigen Eisensulfates (F9S04-7H, 0).Attempts have been made earlier to treat the hydrochloric acid Waste water with sulfuric acid carry out by going into the spent pickling liquid so much sulfuric acid added that the iron chloride or copper chloride formed decomposed with the formation of free hydrochloric acid and iron or copper sulfate. The free hydrochloric acid formed remained in the bath itself and the bath was restored used again for pickling. This reaction of the iron chlorine formed with sulfuric acid was carried out until iron sulfate crystallized out. This method but has the major disadvantage that the slow hydrochloric acid pickle works through Sulphate ions can be undesirably reinforced, so that, the essence of the real Hydrochloric acid pickling is lost. The excretion of the iron sulfate goes with the hitherto applied procedure only very slowly and mostly takes place in the form of hydrous iron sulphate (F9S04-7H, 0).
The present invention now goes completely different ways by the spent mordant containing hydrochloric acid in a slow stream into an excess, more highly graded Run in sulfuric acid. This is due to the absorption of water and the elimination of hydrochloric acid generates such a high heat of reaction that the hydrochloric acid evaporates immediately. the evaporated hydrochloric acid is captured in pure water or in that currently in use hydrochloric acid bath for further carrion sharpening. That way will a high percentage of pure hydrochloric acid is obtained in the first room, while in the second Case of the previously impossible sharpening of a hydrochloric acid bath in use can perform. This sharpening with gaseous hydrochloric acid has the great advantage that the iron content in the hydrochloric acid bath can be greatly enriched and so can the bath Can be in use for a long time. You have it in this new process Hand, the sharpening of the hydrochloric acid bath in use to be carried out at different times as required by removing the used stain from a storage vessel only added to the sulfuric acid when inan the in operation wants to sharpen the hydrochloric acid stain.
By entering the used stain containing hydrochloric acid in concentrated sulfuric acid differs fundamentally from the new process from the aforementioned method of adding sulfuric acid as this way a complete removal of the hydrochloric acid from the wastewater is carried out and the recovered acidic acid is available in pure form for pickling purposes, what was previously not possible. The introduction of waste stain containing iron chloride in sulfuric acid has the further advantage that the iron sulfate formed is immediately excretes in the form of a white powder as anhydrous iron sulfate, while with the previous extraction method, the iron sulfate through a long crystallization process .had to be excreted as water-containing iron sulphate. This extraction of the Iron sulfate as a low-water salt has the advantage that it is immediately quantitative separates and makes it easier to work on. Due to its low water content it can withstand transport over long distances.
After entering the sulfuric acid, it is still in the liquid Any remaining hydrochloric acid is driven off by gentle heating, so that the hydrochloric acid ioo% is recovered. Through this process, not only is the form of Hydrochloric acid present in the egg, but also that in the pickling liquid Existing free hydrochloric acid expelled. . The economic advantage of the new Method is also increased by the fact that the previously lost free Hydrochloric acid always migrates back into the process. The small amounts of sulfuric acid containing iron sulphate, which is a residual product of the process, . are then used for pickling in the sulfuric acid heating plant.
If the stain contains nitric acid in addition to hydrochloric acid, you can by adding pieces of metal, preferably shot, a reduction in nitric acid bring about. Shot pieces are added as long as the solution is still rotbrawi is colored. Only when the solution has become water-white, a sign that everyone Nitrous oxide ferrochloride solution is decomposed, one leads to the excretion of hydrochloric acid the end.

Gewicht i,i9). Theoretisch sollten rund 99 kg Fe S .04 # H2 O ausfallen.B-eispi, el temperature of the stain 6o °. 250 1 raw stain with 32.5 kg Fe, 42.3 kg bound hydrochloric acid and 9.4 kg free hydrochloric acid. are entered in .20o 1. concentrated sulfuric acid and give 30.44 kg of effective HCl = 68.7 l of concentrated hydrochloric acid (specific weight 1.19) without the use of artificial heat. After an hour of artificial heat supply, the hydrochloric acid is practically expelled up to 100%. By that time, up to around goo / o, the iron had precipitated as anhydrous iron sulphate. Theoretically, around 99 kg Fe S .04 # H2 O should be precipitated.

If nitric acid is also present in addition to hydrochloric acid, this must be done treatment with sulfuric acid can be reduced by metal in acidic solution, because ferric sulfate is significantly more soluble than ferrous sulfate.
