Description

Arrangement for carrying out the method of recording electrical Signals by means of an electroosmotic cell. The invention relates to a device for light control for high-speed or picture writers using the in the patent 509944 electroosmotic device. This device allows with the help of relatively weak intermittent currents or alternating currents, a practical one sufficient inertia-free control of the moved by the electroosmotic effect Column of liquid. If one leaves the column of liquid in the rhythm of the control frequency emerge from a nozzle, it is obtained on a strip of paper moved past the image of the control frequency through impregnation or color reaction.

The same electro-osmotic device is now to be used in accordance with the present invention for controlling a light beam. For this purpose, with the aid of a suitable optical arrangement, the light beam bundle is moved with its constriction point in the path of the controlled liquid column, which can influence the light by glare. The figure shows a suitable arrangement. The radiation emanating from a light source i is limited by a diaphragm 2 and imaged into the tube 6 by a lens 3 in such a way that the light from the source lies directly above the meniscus of the liquid. A lens 4 then designs the sharp light spot on the rotating writing drum 5. The arrangement of the electroosmotic cell 7 corresponds to that specified in the main patent. In the vessel 7 are z. B. a sound cell 8 and inner and outer electrodes 9 or io, via which the circuit of the receiver 13 is closed on the low-frequency side with the help of the supply lines ii and 12. 14 is the exit tube of the cell. The low-frequency current surges which the receiver 13 delivers and which correspond to the telegraph or image signals to be transmitted cause an intermittent rise and fall of the liquid column 6, whereby the light beam is cut off from the receiving surface or allowed to pass through it again at the same rhythm. The liquid can be colored opaque for this purpose.
