Das Entwickeln und Fixieren von photographischen Filmbändern erfordert infolge ihrer Länge besondere Einrichtungen, um sie in den Bädern entwickeln und fixieren zu können. Man hat infolgedessen Einrichtungen geschaffen, bei denen das Filmband zwecks Platzersparung auf eine Spirale gewickelt wird. Das Aufwickeln des Filmbandes auf die Spirale erfolgte durch Abrollen des Films aus der Filmkassette. Diese zeitraubende und umständliche Methode wird durch die Erfindung dadurch beseitigt, daß man das Filmband während der Aufnahme nicht mehr auf den Kern aufwickelt, sondern unmittelbar auf die in der Kassette untergebrachte Entwicklungsspirale. Um den Film auf die Entwicklungsspirale aufwickeln zu können, muß das Filmband beim Aufwickeln eine bestimmte Lage einnehmen, da es sonst nicht mit seinem unteren Rand in die horizontal gelagerten Spiralgänge gleiten kann. Zu diesem Zwecke muß das aufzuwickelnde Filmband eine zwangsweise Führung erhalten, die erfindungsgemäß aus winklig zur Aufwickelachse angeordneten Leitrollen besteht. Bei kleinem bzw. sich vergrößerndem Durchmesser der Filmwindung auf der Spirale nehmen die Leitrollen zwangsläufig eine verschiedene Stellung ein.
