Description
Die in den Gießereien zur Verwendung kommenden üblichen Kernstützen werden nach feststehenden Höhenmaßen ι ο, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 mm usw. bis 80 mm Höhe hergestellt. Diese feststehenden Maße bedingen erstens einen großen Vorrat an Kernstützen, zweitens geht bei Aussuchung der jeweils passenden Kernstützen sehr viel Zeit verloren, drittens werden sehr viele Kernstützen durch das Nichtpassen achtlos beiseitegelegt und gehen dann zugrunde. Es sind nun schon verschiedene Vorschläge gemacht, um die Höhenmaße der Stützen verändern zu können, teils durch keilförmig zueinander passende Schrägflächen, teils gegossene, mit Schrauben versehene, jedoch einschenklige Stützen. Das erstgenannte Muster ist nur in senkrechter Anwendung einwandfrei, weil es nur so zwischen Kern und Form eingekeilt werden kann. Bei waagerechter Anwendung ist die Brauchbarkeit in Frage gestellt, weil schon bei der geringsten ungleichen Berührung der oben aufgelegten Stützen durch den Kern oder die Form ein Verrücken stattfindet, welches dann beim fertigen Gußstück durch ungleiche Wandstärke zum Ausdruck kommt oder zum Ausschuß führt.
