Description

Digestion of tin-containing alloys and ashes According to the previous known methods, tin-containing alloys and ashes, such as bearing metal, Tin solder, among other things, with caustic alkali solutions at elevated temperature (under pressure) in the presence of oxidizing agents to such an extent that tin and lead are partly in solution walk.

B. Eisenchlorid, Kiesabbrände u. a. According to our own invention, the above-mentioned tin-containing alloys are digested with alkaline lyes in such a way that only the tin is practically completely dissolved, while the other metals remain undissolved. The practical importance of this process is that it is possible to dissolve the tin from the tin-containing alloys and ashes in one operation. The basic idea of the invention is that only those oxidizing agents are used in the digestion which, under the given circumstances, do not act on other metals besides tin, but only oxidize the hydrogen produced during the dissolution of the tin and thus accelerate the digestion. According to the invention, compounds of trivalent iron, such as, for. B. iron chloride, gravel burns, etc. Embodiment 500 kg of bearing metal with about 30 ° / a tin content is allowed to act x5oo kg of 35 °, loigen caustic soda in the presence of 70 kg of gravel burn at a pressure of 15 atm for 5 to 7 hours with constant stirring. After the reaction has ended, the solution containing all tin as stannate is separated from the residue which contains all lead, antimony and copper. The stannate solution and the undissolved mixture are processed into individual metals or their salts in a known manner.
