Description
Device for feeding heavy oil internal combustion engines The simple one Atomizer carburetor, which is known in various designs, generally provides one when using a very volatile fuel correct supply of the internal combustion engine. When working with heavy fuels it has already been proposed to vaporize the fuel in a vacuum chamber and to connect a pump driven by the motor between this chamber and the motor, which the mixture feeds into your combustion chamber. Such a device provides but not getting a proper charge as the engine speed changes on the amount of fuel introduced into the vacuum chamber has no influence, so that charge compositions. occur that do not correspond to the engine speed.
The invention now relates to a device which addresses this deficiency eliminated and the correct feeding of heavy fuel oil internal combustion engines variable speed allowed.
The device, which consists of an intermediate container and a sucking in the mixture and always keeping the intermediate container under negative pressure Composed suction pump is according to the invention with a volumetric backing pump of compared to the suction pad, which has a lower pressure change effect, which is a mixture of fuel and one of the amount of air entering the engine directly Sucks in dependent air additive and conveys it into the intermediate container. Appropriately stands also the air inlet valve in front of the carburetor, z. B. by a mechanical connection depending on the one in the main mixing pipe.
Such a connection between the two valves is found in carburettor engines already known without an intermediate vacuum chamber. The connection served here to combine the controls for the main and auxiliary air inlets, with the Auxiliary air inlet was opened at higher engine speed. Such a connection of the Valves by no means brought about a constant, proportional relationship between the charge composition and the engine speed, as in the device according to the invention is the case.
The drawing shows a preferred embodiment of the invention.
The main mixture pipe 2 of the engine, which can be of an ordinary type may, is through an opening, the free passage cross-section through a valve 3 of any design can be regulated as required, fed with air. In the main mixing pipe 2 opens in the air flow direction behind the valve 3 at suitable Selected point an auxiliary pipe 12, which the necessary fuel vapors supplies, which are precisely measured for all speeds by means of the following device getting produced.
The motor simultaneously drives a volumetric pump 9 of any one Type (piston, rotary, root pump or the like) that weighs a quantity per second Sucks in air, which is proportional to the amount of air weight that is in the same Time passes through valve 3 under the suction of the motor. This relationship can thereby for all numbers in circulation through a suitable arrangement and dimensioning of the Inflow opening of the main mixture pipe and the auxiliary pump are maintained. The pipe leading to the auxiliary pump is also provided with a valve 6 which through a mechanical connection 1q. is dependent on the valve 3. on this way you will get the desired mixture ratio for each speed of the engine reaches how large the opening of the valve 3 is. The suction pipe 5 of the auxiliary pump is in communication with an atomizer carburetor 7, as it is usually used for gasoline is used. One or more nozzles of the carburetor give one in the unit of time amount of liquid fuel from the amount of the sucked by the auxiliary pump 9 to the amount Air is in a certain ratio and, consequently, so is that through the valve 3 the amount of air passing through is proportional. Basically everyone is known Carburettor can be used. However, a carburetor with up to the nozzle is particularly suitable filled container. A very rich mixture is obtained at the outlet of the pump or an emulsion of a weight rating which at each speed with respect to the air sucked in directly by the engine through the opening regulated by valve 3 is in the right proportion. This very rich mixture is placed in an intermediate container io passed, which is in communication with a second auxiliary pump 8, which so sized is that, despite the inflow of the mixture in the container, they have a certain Maintains negative pressure. The mixture is due to the prevailing negative pressure transformed into vapors, which finally reach an auxiliary pipe, which is the outflow opening the second pump at a suitable point with the main mixture pipe of the internal combustion engine connects. The engine sucks in a mixture of air and is accurate for each speed measured fuel vapors. Facilities can be made which accelerate the mixing and ensure that the composition of the mixture is absolutely the same cause. To make sure that the carburetor nozzle ejected liquid fuel is taken into the first auxiliary pump, can a vertical carburettor is used, in which the direction of flow is the Gases runs from top to bottom, which in its working sense is the usual one Carburetor opposite is reversed. The usual direction of the current can also be retained and place a bowl underneath the carburetor, which will not be taken away Collects fuel. From this bowl the fuel is then used for the first pump supplied by any feasible device (a pump or the like).
At the outlet of the first pump, an additional atomizer device of any kind can be added in order to facilitate the formation of vapors in the intermediate container. Devices 11, 13 for heating, even for catalysis, etc., can be arranged in the same way.
It should also be expressly mentioned that the supply of fuel vapors to the cylinders of the engine through valves which can be regulated by the valves are different, which supply the air necessary for the formation of the combustion mixture.
The negative pressure in the intermediate container that is necessary for the formation of the vapors sustaining second pump can be of any type, so z. B. a rotary pump or the like. It can be powered either by the engine or by some other means will.
