Process for bleaching vegetable fibers, in particular
of wood pulp With the usual bleaching processes for vegetable fibers,
z. B. in pulp bleaching, it is known that the experience that with
Application of hypochlorite solutions as bleaching agents to bleach the first time
happens quickly, but then there is an increasing delay as the process progresses
takes place so that the bleaching takes place according to the laws of the monomolecular reaction
runs. The progress in the clearing corresponds to these relationships
of the good as the consumption of the chlorine in the solution. With the one during the bleaching
Accumulation of the incrustations in the bleach bath is known to be the danger
connected with the later washing out of the bleached material with water
in the so-called dilution wash, substances precipitate colloidally on the fibers,
which give the bleached material a relatively increased ash content. Manifold
Proposals have been made to remedy this situation. So is z. B. a procedure
known to carry out the bleaching of cellulose in the countercurrent principle. To
In this process, the fabric is impregnated with bleach solution, then through appropriate
Thickening apparatus full of the partially used bleaching solution as much as possible
freed to be impregnated again with a bleach solution of greater concentration
will. In addition to certain advantages, this method still has the disadvantage on its own
repeated operations and especially the extended duration.
Stoffe. It has now been found that the bleaching time can be shortened considerably

Has the highest temperature, around 25 to 35 ° C, while the strongest bleach solution
(Initial solution) works at around 15 to 25 ° C. This should not be ruled out
be that you can also choose other temperature ranges. Regarding the gradation
the concentration of bleaching agent in the bleaching solution is appropriately adjusted
the degree of bleachability of the fabric; for fabrics that are difficult to bleach, choose the
absolute concentrations and the step differences are greater than for easily bleachable
Fabrics.
B. in Pappenbandforin.
schnitten a, b, c nacheinander
mit Bleichlösung verschiedener Konzentration imprägniert. Dabei erhält Stelle a
It is now further proposed «-order to work with the highest possible consistency, z. B. in Pappenbandforin. This type of bleaching has significant advantages over the known process described, since above all the thickening of the substance is omitted every time. It has now been found that the use of the countercurrent principle in bleaching cardboard tape means a very significant reduction in the bleaching time and complete utilization of the bleaching solution. For example, a pulp board band is continuously cut in three waste a, b, c successively with bleaching solution of various concentrations impregnated. Here, point a (raw material) receives the bleaching liquor ä, which only has such a low chlorine content that it is exhausted by acting on the raw material. If the tape advances to point b, the stronger bleaching solution b 'is brought into action, then squeezed out and used further as solution ri. The length of material then goes to point c, where the strongest bleaching liquor c 'enters and, after the bleaching effect, is pressed out and discharged as solution b'. After this bleaching, in which the temperature of the solution is lower in each subsequent bleaching stage, the substance that no longer contains any incrustations, since these have been carried away by the solutions a ', b', c ', is now one and only washed thoroughly. The end product is a completely (or to the desired degree) bleached, non-encrusted substance obtained in a significantly shorter time than before.
The union of bleach with countercurrent principle and temperature drop
with increasing concentrations of the bleaching solutions, applied to the known per se
Cardboard tape bleaching with concentrated solutions therefore offers the advantage of
that by squeezing off the solutions, the incrustations are completely removed from the fabric
and finally allows the bleaching to be carried out in the shortest possible time.
