erhalten.Process for the preparation of N-dialkylated aromatic amines by
the main patent: 191,856 is a process for the preparation of N-alkylated aromatics
Amines protected. It consists inter alia. in that one primary aromatic amino compounds
in acidic solution under the action of nascent hydrogen gradually with
an aldehyde or a suitable aldehyde compound of the aliphatic series with
Except for formaldehyde or its derivatives. From the primary amines
secondary amines are thus obtained with 1 mole of aldehyde and tertiary amines with 2 moles of aldehyde
obtain.
It has now been found that for the purpose of producing tertiary
Amines can also start from finished secondary aliphatic-aromatic amines.
By using appropriate aldehydes, it is possible to use one in the secondary
To introduce amine already present or a different alkyl radical. Through connection
the process of the main patent with the present it is possible to have two different
To introduce alkyl radicals into a primary aromatic amine without the need to
to deposit the initially formed secondary aliphatic-aromatic amine as such.
Beispiele i.
Weise abgeschieden. Die Ausbeute beträgt 93 °/".N-methylations of finished secondary aliphatic-aromatic
Amines by the influence of formaldehyde and a reducing agent in mineral acids
Solution have been described variously. In all cases, however, the
total amount of aldehyde added at once. Such a procedure is only available at
Use of formaldehyde exceptionally applicable. In the description of the main patent
has already been mentioned that an immediate addition of the entire aldehyde mileage
the alkylation of primary aromatic amines with the help of homologues of formaldehyde
causes large losses because side reactions occur. These side reactions
are avoided in the present process that the aldehyde gradually
is added. Examples i. To a heated solution of 12.1
Parts of monoethylaniline in 300 parts of 20 "strength sulfuric acid gradually becomes a solution
of, 1.4 parts of acetaldehyde and at the same time 3o parts of zinc dust, your something
Copper sulfate is added, gradually entered. After the hydrogen evolution
has ceased, is made alkaline and the N-diethylaniline formed in known
Way deposited. The yield is 93%.
2. 2,26 Teile p-Methylaminobenzanilid werden mit -oTeilen Alkohol,
iooTeilen io"/"iger
j in 2o Teilen Wasser fließen.
Die Ausbeute beträgt 9o °%o.2. 2.26 parts of p-methylaminobenzanilide are heated to gentle boiling on a water bath under reflux with -o parts of alcohol, 100 parts of 100% sulfuric acid and 90 parts of zinc dust together with some copper sulfate. For this purpose, a solution of 0.65 parts of acetaldehyde ammonia in 20 parts of water is allowed to flow within 45 minutes. After the reaction has ended, the mixture is filtered and N, p-methylethylaminobenzanilide is precipitated with ammonia from the filtrate after the alcohol has been driven off. From dilute alcohol it crystallizes in colorless needles with a melting point of 135 to 36 °, which are easily soluble in alcohol, ethyl acetate, benzene and chloroform when heated, less soluble in ether and very poorly soluble in ligroin. The yield is 90% o.
