Abstract
The cylinder head (1) is able to reduce harmful emissions in the exhaust gas by means of recesses (3) acting with the cylinders, each of which has a piston with a web region moving far enough into it for the top piston ring at top dead center to bt below the cylinder head gasket. The cylinder head cooling cavity (4) may be roughly the same depth as the recesses.
