Abstract

The spring wire (8) is wound into a spring coil in a winding station (6) and the coil spring (1) is then gripped by a gripper (3) of a gripper arm (2) and moved to a following finishing station. The distance of the gripper arm to the winding station or the winding station to the gripper arm is adjustable e.g. by a servo motor which can be computer-controlled. The winding station and servo motor can be coupled so that the gripper arm is adjusted when there is a change in the number of windings in the coil spring.
