Description
Process for the production of metal strips to be used in healds Punched out eyes Punch out eyes for twine flashing from metal strips known per se. Furthermore, eyes have become known for healds, which all around, d. H. also on the sides. Grooves for receiving the stranded wire or the stranded cord to have. With one type of these eyes, the grooves are made by flanging the edges, similar to eyelets for lace-up shoes. Such eyes are always thicker as the wire or cord of the heddle; furthermore, cheap manufacture eats the same are not possible, and they cannot be used with machines for automatic insertion of auras in healds 'used'.
Another type of such eyes is made of profiled wire with a cross-section constricted in the middle. The profile wire cannot be made as thin as the stranded wire if it is made of fine strands, and the eye made from it has a joint in which the thread gets caught. Therefore, none of the known eye can satisfy its intended use correctly with lateral grooves for accommodating the stranded wire, an d with fine strands of fabric, the aforementioned deficiencies are particularly unfavorable.
These disadvantages «grounded in the process of making eyes fixed according to the present invention by punching out a flat one on the long sides grooved metal strip of the width of the eye that is used in the Punching out wedge-shaped or rounded end parts is obtained.
Eyes made in this way bring a very significant advance compared to the acquaintance, they can be made from strips "earth, their thickness corresponds to that of the thinnest wire; they therefore enable manufacture of healds for very fine fabrics and are very suitable for using machines to be inserted into the strands and manufactured in large quantities.
The drawing serves to explain the invention, Fig. I the Metal strips, from which the eyes are made, with the punched out Showing holes; Fig.2 shows the punching out of the end parts of the eyes; Fig. 3, .t and 5 show the finished eye in a front view. Side view or section by line V-V in Fig. 3, and Fig. 6 shows a strand in which the eye is built.
Die dargestellten Teile sind stark vergrößert gezeigt. The parts shown are shown greatly enlarged.
From a flat metal strip i, e.g. B. made of copper, brass and preferably steel, which has the width of the eye to be produced and the on its side surfaces 2 and 3 with longitudinal notches or Grooves q. is provided, holes 5 are punched out at regular intervals, which correspond to the clear opening of the eye. Then, or at the same time punching out the holes, the pointed ones between the holes in the strip are grounded Ends 6 of the eyes punched out by means of a matrix 7 indicated by hatching in Figure 2, wherein the facing ends of two adjacent eyes are punched out at the same time will.
As shown in Figs. 3 to 5, lay the two stranded wires 8 and 9 into the V-shaped groove in the longitudinal sides 2 shown in section in FIG. 5 and 3 of the eye and secure the eye in its position in the curvature of the Wires. The eye just needs about the same thickness as the stranded wires too have, which is mainly beneficial for strands for the production of fine fabrics. If steel strips are used to make the eyes, they can be hardened without them warping.
In Fig. 6 the eye is shown installed in a heddle, whereby the spaces io and i i between the ends 6 of the eye and the stranded wires with solder are filled out. This connection causes the two stranded wires 8 to twist and 9 unnecessary at the ends of the bend, thus a heald can be obtained which also has a thickness in the part in which the eye is inserted, which - essentially corresponds to the wire diameter. By this hardened and With cleanly punched eyes, the thread is very spared, and there are fewer treads Thread breaks than with the previous eyes and healds.
