Arrangement for the extinguishing chambers of oil switches For oil switches with
The arcing chamber becomes the moment in which the contact pins become the arcing chamber
leave the gas under high pressure developed in the extinguishing chambers
rush into the oil pot with great violence, and: it can then, if the
The dimensions of the oil gas bubbles that form are too large, dangerous states occur. Around
now instead of an outflow of gases from the extinguishing chambers an inflow of
Oil in: to achieve this, the movable contact pins are used in a known manner
executed hollow and form with a likewise designed as a hollow body and
a connected pipe system supported by a hollow rod. According to
the invention is in the hollow support rod of the crossbeam, a piston whose
Downward movement is limited. If gases form in the extinguishing chamber, the
Piston lifted up, thus allowing the volume of the extinguishing chamber to be increased.
In this way, the moment of the interruption, i.e. the movement of the contact pins
in the extinguishing chambers, no pressure through which the gases are pressed into the oil
could become. Furthermore, the piston is on the support rod at the moment of interruption
not only is it raised by the pressure of the gases, but it is raised by that movement
the contact pins and thus the support rod an inflow of oil into the arcing chamber
causes, due to the relative movement of the support rod to that in its interior
located piston, which does not take part in this movement.
A schematic representation of such an arrangement is from
See drawing. a1 and a2 are the two arcing chambers, b1 and b2 the contact pins,
which are in engagement with the mating contacts cl and c2. The contact pins b1 and
b2 are hollow and connected by the tubular cross member d. The traverse d will
.Holded by the support rod e moved by the drive linkage, which likewise
is made hollow and contains a piston f. Move the, Traverse d and
so that the contact pins b1 and b2 are down, so when leaving the contacts
cl and c2 occurring gases are pressed into the cavity of the traverse d and can
lift the piston f in the support rod e. The moment the contact pins
b1 and b2 leave the arcing chambers cal and a2, there is no overpressure in these
the oil is present in the oil pot, so the gases cannot get out of the fire alarm
flow into the oil pot. By moving the traverse d opposite the fixed one
Piston f causes oil to be drawn into the extinguishing chamber when it is switched off.
