Description

Method for covering both sides of material webs such as paper, Cardboard, fabric and the like with metal layers The invention relates to a method for covering both sides of material webs such as paper, cardboard, fabric and the like Metal layers. It has already been proposed to incorporate a metal layer in porous form, preferably by brushing or spraying onto the web of fabric apply, for the purpose of allowing the fabric to dry out. It has namely shown that by the airtight enclosure of the to connect the MetaUschichten with the fabric web adhesive used the same moisture cannot escape and, as a result, changes in the shape of the composite material, but in particular the objects made from it by pressing or pulling, caused. In addition to these purely mechanical effects, there is also the included Moisture of the adhesive a chemical decomposition takes place, whereby in particular the metal layer is attacked and becomes oxidized in a short time. Simultaneously the fabric covered with the metal layers, for example paper or cardboard, softened by the moisture of the adhesive and loses its strength. The invention aims, based on the known proposal, the eine.Metallschicht to apply in porous form to the fabric web, a new method to find make, whereby this porous metal layer is achieved in a simpler and cheaper way is than before and what also results from the porosity of this metal layer resulting adverse effects, in particular the risk of flaking these Metal layer of the fabric and the permeability for the moisture of the Air to be eliminated again. According to the invention serves as a porous metal layer one finely perforated in a mechanical way, preferably by means of embossing rollers Meta role. The production of this openwork metal foil is cheaper than the previously used spraying or brushing on of the metal layer. For example, the openings can be made with the same roller, which is used to provide the metal foil with an embossed pattern. To prevent, that the metal foil in the production of the openings, for example in Embossing or when applying it to the length of fabric, the metal foil will be damaged broken through together with an associated paper backing. Through this Paper backing increases the mechanical strength of the film. It also has revealed that a metal foil, which together with a paper backing is rolled, has fine perforations even when using a smooth roller. So that the perforated metal foil cannot peel off the fabric and also prevents the air humidity from penetrating through the openings is, in a further embodiment of the invention, the openings are means a known lacquer coating again after the web of material has dried out locked.
