Wall covering fabric and method of making the same

In the production of this tension material, the front panel is first used
a relief pressed in a known way and then on the back of this sheet,
while it is still on the die roll, glue is applied. This
only adheres to the places not pressed into the depressions of the roller. at
the further movement over the die roll is against the back of the web
a fibrous web, e.g. B. cotton, pressed.

Die obere Schicht i besteht gewöhnlich

In Fig. I, i is the front and 2 is the back of the tension material

In the illustration in Fig. I, the relief consists of parallel lines

liegend an
The production of the tension material is carried out in such a way that the gauze
or the paper between profiled rollers, as shown for example in Fig.3
are, passed through and thereby provided with the relief pressing. The so shaped
Fabric is placed on it while it is still moving over the stencil roller
lying on
smeared the unembossed areas with glue, whereupon
then, also while moving over the die roll, the pulp
is applied and pressed into the relief by a roller or the like. As an adhesive
a water-insoluble substance is preferably used.
15 versehen.
The device shown schematically in Fig. 2 for producing the tension material contains a roll 3 from which the gauze or paper web q. runs, a guide roller 5 and two profile rollers 6 and 7, between which the gauze web ¢ is provided with a relief embossing. The roller 7 contains the recessed relief. An adhesive roller 8 rests on the roller 7 and is provided with adhesive by a roller 10 rotating in an adhesive container g. The roller io has a flat surface so that it applies the adhesive only to the parts of the front sheet that have remained flat. The roller 8 is followed in the direction of rotation of the roller 7 by a roller ii which presses against the latter and via which a web of cotton wool 13 is fed from a roller 12. This adheres to the areas of the gauze strip coated with adhesive and is pressed into the recessed areas of the relief by the pressure of the roller ti. In order to prevent the gauze web and the cotton wool web from sticking to the rollers 7 or ii, these rollers are provided with dampening rollers 1q. or 15 provided. The tensioned material that is pressed and glued in this way runs after it leaves the roller 7 over a transport cloth 18 stretched over guide rollers 16 and 17, which guides it through a heating box ig, whereupon it is then taken up by a roller 2o.
