Einrichtung zur Elektrolyse von Lösungen Die Verarbeitung von Elektrolyten
mit hohem Gehalt an Chlorionen, beispielsweise Erzlaugen, bot bisher erhebliche
Schwierigkeiten.
Mengen Chlor in Lösung.
worden.Device for the electrolysis of solutions The processing of electrolytes with a high content of chlorine ions, for example ore liquors, has previously presented considerable difficulties. For example, lead anodes cannot be used with zinc sulfate solutions that contain more than 50 to 70 milligrams of chlorine ions per liter. However, significantly larger amounts of chlorine dissolve when artificially produced zinc oxides are leached. The situation is similar when processing other ores, such as copper ores. One was. in such cases, before the actual electrolysis of the alkali, it is forced to treat it or the starting material for it in a special way in order to bring the limit of the chlorine ions below the number given above. Chemical processes, for example, have been ordered for this purpose.
According to the invention, an electrolyte having a high content of chlorine ions can be obtained
easily process electrolytic by adding one or more baths of electrolytic
System with anodes consisting entirely or partially of super oxides of the heavy metals
provides. In this bath can be electrolytically without difficulty
the chlorine content of the electrolyte so low that it is normal
Baths can be processed further. It is best to use insoluble for this purpose
To use anodes, e.g. B. anodes made of lead, which are sufficiently covered with a shell
must be surrounded by solid insulating material permeable to the electric current,
or manganese dioxide or magnetite anodes. In the case of lead anodes, the resulting accumulates
Superoxide in the insulating sleeve, which is safe with the actual anode
Contact forms. If necessary, anodes consisting entirely of lead peroxide can also be used
Find use that z. B. are made by pressing. Such anodes are
as tests showed, not attacked by electrolytically deposited chlorine.
For example, if you want to process zinc sulfate solution with a high content of chlorine ions above 50 to 70 milligrams per liter according to the new process, one works in such a way that one or more baths at the beginning of the normal series of baths arranged in the usual cascade form the anodes of the mentioned type included. The zinc sulfate solution is then electrolyzed in these to such an extent that its chlorine content falls below the specified limit. The low-chlorine solution is then allowed to run through the other baths in the usual manner.
Zink Bleisuperoxydanoden in allen Einzelzellen benutzt.
statt dessen meist Bleianoden.
In the past, the electrolytic production of
Zinc lead superoxide anodes used in all single cells. In more recent times one is
but in order to achieve better economy in such systems of one
such use of lead peroxide anodes
departed and used
instead mostly lead anodes. The electrolyte content is too high
noticeable disturbing in chlorine ions, to reduce it one has hitherto generally done
has used chemical agents. However, this is quite cumbersome and time consuming.
When applying the invention, one reaches the goal much more easily by
equips the first or the first cells of the bath arrangement with superoxide anodes,
while all the other cells are the usual anodes, mostly made of lead
to have. The invention is based on the knowledge that it through the application
a single or at most a few equipped with superoxide anodes
Cells succeed in reducing the content of chlorine ions by electrolytic means s8,
that lead anodes can be used in the other cells without danger.
